Whoa!!! I haven't been here and boy does it show! Very disappointing... That said, I'm not going to be too hard on myself and let this weight get me down. The last few months have been quite crazy and this weight gain is definitely a combination of many things. I (obviously) decided not to make my weight a big focus for a while as I had A LOT of other things to focus on and there's only so much I can do.
First off... and this is the best part, I met the man of my dreams about 6 months ago. It's amazing and we both feel like we've won the lottery by meeting each other. We're talking seriously (YAY) about getting married next spring so I DEFINITELY won't be at this weight in my wedding dress... so time to start now! So, new relationship, eating out more and eating more has definitely taken its toll.
The other thing, which has been more of a challenge, is that I've been having a really hard time at work with a new boss. It's been incredibly stressful and I've never faced this before. My job (as a senior-level manager) is stressful enough as it is but dealing with this has been really difficult. As a result of some reading and soul searching, I have been diagnosed with Adult ADHD, something I've actually had my entire life and have never been diagnosed. It's been stressful trying to find doctors to see me and I have just started medication (Concerta) in the last week. I definitely notice a difference already and my energy level is definitely higher (as well as my ability to concentrate). From what I've read, people with ADHD often have challenges with weight and sticking to a diet, and often have a sweet tooth... something that describes me perfectly.
Anyway, excuses excuses, I know. The truth is, I'm in a much better place to be focusing on my weight now so it's now time to make this a priority. Stay tuned!... and thanks for the support!

UGH! Not good. Just back from a fantastic vacation. I don't think I gained 5 lbs in a week but am in a relatively new relationship (3 months) and have been eating out more than usual. The great thing is that I think I've met "The ONE"! It just makes it harder to lose weight when he's a fantastic cook. We don't actually eat too badly, good, fresh food - just slightly more and a little richer than I do on my own... and more red wine too!
Time to shape up a little and at least eat very cleanly when I'm on my own, which is most of the week.
