Its funny how when I eat less, I no longer lose. I cant really help that though..my hunger is subsiding finally! I wonder if eating the skin of the turkey I made yesterday has anything to do with my bit of gain? I drink at least 8 cups water daily, so maybe today Ill drink 10.
Edited to say Im only looking back on this past week of induction when I said "when I eat less, I no longer lose." Time will tell if this is a trend or just an adjustment. It is worth noting that I have lost about 3/4 inch around my waist in this first week's end. I also realize daily fluctuations are normal. Im trying to figure out what triggers the fluctuations on a daily basis..I may never know.

I drank EXACTLY 104oz water today..not including the soup.

8 oz coffee
splenda/cream 2.6
3 bowls homemade turkey soup with cabbage, celery, and onion

I've noticed that too. When I eat under 1,000 calories (I'm just not hungry), the scales halt to a standstill.

That happens because your body goes into starvation mode and slows your metabolism. When it comes to food less is NOT better. You should be getting somewhere in the neighborhood of 1600 calories per day. This has been determined to be a healthy number which will allow weight loss and help keep lean muscle intact. If you go too low you will lose muscle, not just fat. When your body has more muscle your metabolism tends to be higher and you can take in more calories as your baseline during maintenance. Also, you should be drinking AT LEAST 64 oz of water per day. If you don't drink enough water that too can slow weight loss. Have you actually read the Atkins book?

Yes, I have read the book. Just got lazy over the holidays. I know what I aam suppossed to do, just geeting back in to the groove. Working out at Ball's at least 3 times a week, quit smoking, quit drinking alcohol. The water is a big factor on this diet and it does work.

Hey slease, I am getting around 70 oz of water a day..64 of which is water. I am doing atkins to the letter; and yes, I have owned and memorized this atkins book for over 6 years now. Thanks for your input. I dont understand why after a week of losing 6 pounds and a gain of 0.4 pounds you say that Im in starvation mode. I messaged you for more info on that though. This time around, I am journaling all of my food mostly in my posts and all included in the food diary provided by the site. I was lazy about that last time :)

Your body cannot go into starvation mode if you are not hungry. If you eat less than 1600 cals once a week or so because you're not hungry, if that is not enough for you you will be hungrier the next day and eat a little more. That is OK. It is called listening to your body. Daily weight fluctuations are meaningless. It is the overall trend, determined in a weekly basis that really tells you whether your diet is successful or not.
