Sorry to hear that!! Keep up with your diet and exercise and the scale will follow. :) Another way to assess progress is by how you feel ... do you feel better or worse after following the diet and working out?

I actually do feel a lot better, and I DID weigh myself after eating breakfast etc....but still, shouldn't have made THAT much of a difference. I am DETERMINED to do this, so I guess I just need to focus on trial and error and find out what works best for me. Thanks for the inspire!!!

You're welcome! Yes, everyone is different, so find what works for you. I saw the other post and the comments underneath ... @SteelersFan is right ... there could be so many explanations. Just keep on with your routine and that determination will set the scale straight! :)

sometimes your body just doesn't want to get rid of the weight, so it holds on as long as it can but it all starts to balance out and you'll see the pounds start to come off.Keep on doing what you're doing.I'm sure results are on the way.

Great job sticking with everything so far!! Just remember that your body is not a cash register-- it doesn't total up your calories in and calories out and refund you the difference right away! :) You'll be shocked to find, with regular weighing, how much your breakfast "weighs" in the scale, along with all that water you're drinking (you are drinking lots of water, right? ;) ), last night's dinner, the water that's being retained by those sore muscles from all the hard work you're doing... just give your body some time to work it all out. If you're sticking with it and making good choices, the scale will catch up. In the mean time, keep track of non-scale progress! Check your energy levels, fitness levels, and measurements! You can do this!!

just before starting over again last week, i was counting calories and working out everyday and hit a wall, no loss.. and sometimes a gain!... but i realized that i was relying on the scale to determine my progress which is not always accurate.. i was happy with my body for the first time in years and was HEALTHY!!.. so coming from someone who took a break and now has to lose all the weight i already lost, keep going, strive for fitness goals vs. scale goals (i want to jog a mile non stop, or do 30 pushups) and measure ur progress that way :)

Kati, have you taken measurements? It has always helped me to measure myself at least monthly. This way if the scale is nor cooperating I can measure myself and see that I am indeed loosing inches even if the scale is not showing the pounds. Don't give up, you can do it!

I second the measurements suggestion! The other thing I would say is try to do it monthly or every other week at most ... just put all of the "how am I doing??" stuff in the back of your mind, if possible, and put your head down, do the work, and go about living life! Pick up a new hobby you've wanted to try, or do those things that are just for you that you've not had time for. Distract yourself from the scale for a while; it will always be there. Put it out of sight except on weigh-in days. The fluctuations will make you crazy, so in this case, what you don't know won't hurt you. :P A positive mindset is everything, IMHO. Track everything here so that you can see where you went off-course, if you do. Be honest with yourself when you track your food & exercise, too. It's not easy, but it's all very, very worth it. We're with ya! :)
