Hello all!
Today has been a good day. Started at my new gym and so far I love it. It's half the price, less people, cleaner, newer, and best of all the treadmills have personal TVs so I can listen to my favorite game show. And it also forces me on the treadmill instead of the bike. I enjoy the bike more, but I feel like I get a better workout on the treadmill.
I did 6.11 kilometers today, at a very gentle pace. It's been a while since I last ran. I imagine I'll be sore tomorrow.
I'm looking forward to dinner: chicken, broccoli, peas, xtra xtra garlic (my other half is at work, haha!), onion, and a teeny bit of pasta with some tomato & basil pasta sauce and a glass of red. I've only had 644cals so far today and am very pleased.

The exercise machine at the gym says I burn X number of calories, but when I add it to my exercise journal, I'm told that I've burned quite a bit more.
The exercise machine accounts for resistance and calculates my weight, but the calorie thing knows how tall I am and my gender.
Does anyone else have a similar problem? I would be quiet upset to know that I'm not burning as much as the fatsecret exercise calculator suggests =(

I'm so happy to be working out regularly and finally losing, even if it's only a little.
It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.

By the end of this month, I would like to weigh 128lbs. I feel this is a very reasonable goal. I'm now allowed to go back to the gym everyday since my minor surgery, so that combined with being faithful to my calorie calculator should bring me success. My BMI is "healthy" but I do not feel healthy.
I'm watching a lot of Secret Eaters, which has reminded me that I can't see exactly where I'm going wrong unless I record -everything- I eat, no matter how painful it may be to reflect on my final calorie intake.
For instance, had I not consumed alcohol yesterday, I would have only been 25 calories over my limit instead of nearly 500.
I'd like to lose 20 pounds 99 days. Now that I'm working from home, I am going to cancel my crappy (and expensive) gym membership and buy myself an exercise bike. My intentions are to cycle for an hour every morning, and take one or two ballet classes a week. I'm quite shy about starting ballet again - the idea of squeezing my monstrously huge figure into tights and leotards makes me cringe. However, it will be a huge help in shifting these pounds.
