It's been really helpful to plan my meals a week in advance and to repeat meals that I know follow my diet guidelines. I guess it takes the choice out of the mix. I don't spend time standing in front of the refigerator deciding what I want to eat for breakfast or dinner. I also don't spend a ton of time searching for online recipes. My trainer, Raul, helped me design a few simple plans that incorporate a 40-30-30 ratio of carbs:protein:fat. I eat the same thing for breakfast every day. It's nice to have one less decision to make. :)

I also eat the same lunch approximately every day --I usually bounce back and forth between a sandwich on whole wheat bread which is very easy to pack and carry to school and tomato soup which is easy to make at home.

So far, I've been losing the 2 lbs each week. I have to lose about 2.5 lbs each week to reach my goal weight of 135 by October 3rd wedding. The wedding has been wonderufl motivation for me. I want to look and feel amazing on our special day and view it as a day that started the rest of my life. I've spent too much of my youth being fat and self-conscious about how I look. I've never worn a bikini. I've never been a jeans size that wasn't double digits. Whenever I want to buy new clothes, I'm limited by what will fit me and not make look huge. Just once I want to walk into a store, see something that I like on display, try it on without thoughts like "oh, it's a little tight, but it will motivate me to lose weigt" or "it will stretch, so it's OK that they're a little tight now" --I just want the freedom that comes from being thin and worrying less about what I look like.

How many of us have looked in our closet and have our clothes separated by "clothes I fit into at my present fat weight" -- "clothes that are 1-2 sizes too small" -- "clothes that I haven't fit in since high school but are too nice or were too expensive to donate"

I always limit my clothing selection to my fat clothes. I want to be able to wear the skinny-leg jeans I bought this winter. Mostly, I just want to be able to pick anything out of my closet and know that it fits and that I look good.

Goodness, is it really possible to lose 85 lbs? What would I even look like? Will my skin be too saggy? 85 lbs is A LOT!

I've lost about 10 lbs this year. I was doing a running exercise with Raul where he made me sprint while carrying a 10 lb weight. It was heavy. To think, that used to be on my body!

I don't want to look back at my wedding photos and focus on how fat my arms look. So far, I've lost 7lbs and that's encouraging but I'm not sure if I'll be able to sustain this level of weight loss. In the past, it hasn't been too hard for me to lose 20 lbs and keep it off for a while. The problem is that the weight always comes back.

When I first started using this website, I was on a vegan kick. I mean, it was awesome. I could eat as much fruit and fresh vegetables as I wanted and I was eating MASSIVE amounts of food. I had fruit for breakfast, a HUGE salad for lunch and a salad for dinner with some kind of steamed vegetable and fruit for dessert. I ate that way for about three months and lost over 30 lbs. Everyone was amazed and complimenting me on how good I looked. Then my fiance and I started eating chicken and fish once each week. Then we were invited to Las Vegas to spend some time with family. Who goes to a Las Vegas buffet and only eats fruits and veggies, right?! Then it was Thanksgiving. Then Christmas. We completely fell off the wagon and over time I gained all the weight back (and FAST) plus another 20 lbs. How depressing.

So now that we're engaged and I have to fit into a white wedding dress in six months, I have a renewed sense of purpose. No more vegan diet, now I'm just calorie counting. Here we go...
