I did 3 day IF of 20/4 and I am done was feeling not good, couldn’t sleep at night.
So back to for 3 meals without snacks time between meals should be at list 3 hours.

Makes sense there are lots of different eating ways and not everything is for everyone and that's perfectly fine. 😀 After all we're going to be on this lifestyle Journey hopefully for the rest of our lives to improve our health and well-being it makes sense that you may try a variety of different eating methods now and in the future. We are in your corner. Although part of the issue I think may have been that you just weren't eating enough during the times that you were allowed to eat if I might be so bold. From what I've read about intermittent fasting you do eat within a certain time block but you have to eat a certain amount to maintain nutritional balance so that you don't feel sick. But I think it makes a lot of sense that you find something that you can live with that doesn't make you miserable after all in theory you're going to continue this way of eating long term so you want to feel happy and enjoy life and eating you want a healthy relationship with your food. Your meal looks delicious I hope you enjoyed it I like the green and yellow I think it looks very clean and springy.

Maybe you did the fast too long and start at 16/8 or less. I have been doing that for a long time now and I don't get sick but I eat well during my feeding times.

I think it's more important to look at your diet and adjust what doesn't work then to keep driving forward blindly trying to make was not working fit for you when it's just not going to work out. And this way you can focus more on the nutrients that you would like to work on with less pressure to fit them in to your day and more time to plan your meals. It also would allow you more time to meal prep if you choose to do so that you'll be able to focus on which meals you would prefer and have them fit into your eating type. That way if you have a few favorite meals that typically you would have made off limits you can tweak them to me more in line with your health goals and still enjoy them. There's a YouTuber that I enjoy watching that had talked about this at Great length she's half Japanese and half Hawaiian and a lot of her traditional cultural meals were considered extremely unhealthy and so she had worked to make them healthier versions of themselves without compromising their traditional taste texture balance so that she can enjoy the meals that were appropriate for her and her family more regularly and continue eating her traditional cultural meals. Because every time she went and looked at any of the diet regimens from her dietitian school or the traditional Western eating habits it never included in the appropriate cultural meals that she enjoyed and that made her very sad. I liked how she worked on making her favorite foods more accessible to her so that she can make her diet change a lifelong practice.

I contemplated that. But I don’t think I could eat that amount of calories in that small period. I have done ok with the 16/8. But it didn’t do much for the belly which was the whole point for me. Thanks for your perspective.

I have been on a HEALTHIER way of eating journey for many, many years— not for weight loss but just to live a bit healthier and to try to PREVENT the obesity issue rather than to have to constantly face that battle. Deprivation does not work. Giving up all the foods that you like does not work. Portion control works, recipe modification to make your food choices just a bit healthier works. Avoiding fast foods works, decreasing the amount of eating out in restaurants works. STOP SNACKING works, Increase physical activity— becoming a gym rat is not necessary. Make your activity fun for you, your friends, your kids this does not need to be nearly as painful as so many make it.
