Why is weight loss so dang hard. Making the right choice is not the problem, its finding the opportunity to make the right choice. Being a mom of 2 and a wife to a husband that just eats what ever they want, makes it hard for me.

Have you taken the time to talk to your husband? Could you possibly sell him on the possibility of making healthier choices as a family, or at least find some middle ground?

I get it! It's hard. You can do this, though. Even if you have to make a healthier version of the family meals for yourself (for a while I was using cauliflower rice in place of pasta and regular rice). Find a way of eating and a routine that fits into your family and your life, and go from there. You can do this!!

I'm almost in the same boat! No kids, but my husband is one of those people who will order food delivery if I don't make dinner, so I find myself making 2 dinners most nights or just letting him fend for himself. Hopefully as I start to make more progress, he'll want to get more serious about his health too. 🤞

You can do hard things! Love you for you, eat well for you, move for you, speak well of yourself for you. You are the motivation.

I get this!! My husband would wait in the car sometimes when I was lifting and eat nutty bars. That went on for a year. I just kept focusing on me even though he would want to order pizza, have spaghetti or ice cream. I just did me measuring and eating the way my trainer instructed me too. Finally one night at a friends house we were having an arm wrestling contest and I literally beat him. He joined the gym after that and here we are together counting our macros and working out together. I love that we are doing this together and we talk about our workouts and plan our meals.

I won't come here to beat a dead horse. Or tell you a bunch of positive things to make you feel better. I checked your profile and read your bio. Ultimately it comes down to you. You control what goes in your body. I will say this though as a stay at home parent with 3 kids 11, 5, and 1. It definitely makes it easier if they help you. But again you either want this more than anything or it doesn't work. The part of your bio that touched me was wanting to live as long as you can for your children. That's what I'm doing! You can too but you have to change the way you see food and make better choices. I'm not attempting to preach at you. But maybe spark something inside of you. When you finally say enough is enough. You deserve to be healthy and happy.

While I was trying to lose weight, I cooked 2 different meals. My husband likes fried and processed foods and I was trying to eat clean. I did it for about a year and a half. Now I am in maintenance phase but still try to eat as clean as I can so I just adapt. If I make Italian I make pasta for him, zoodles for me. I usually make him a potato or starch with his protein and I have a protein and veggies. It has gotten easier so hang in there.

Be stronger than the other people, count calories and just eat fewer calories than you burn

Think about the long term. Your kids are going to need at least one parent who is healthy and able to be able to keep up with them. Teaching them healthy eating habits and portions when they are developing their own relationships with food is a gift. You are in a position to save them from your struggles. You can do it plan to succeed!

In our house I happen to be the cook. So my husband eats what I cook. I cook healthy and use a lot of spices, except salt, for flavor. We eat mainly the same thing. I do portion control for myself. He eats larger portions. But he's still getting pretty healthy food. I've lovingly made it clear that if he doesn't want what I cook. He knows his way around the kitchen or the way to D. Q.... And I rarely ever ever tell him that the recipe is low fat or healthier, so he's not giving the opportunity to turn his nose up at it.
