So i've gone from various site to site seeing how many calories my body need per day. And all the sites have said within 3100 to 3500 to sustain my weight. So I'm a little bit like Yes! Keep on the burning my stored fat :)

I also discovered the food journal on this site which for the most part is great at keeping track of my food. only problem is today i had various salads at the local market and i have no idea what to put in it. Is there a way i can just "up the calorie" count by a number? i also had a subway salad which i wonder how i'll enter that... hmm...

13 lbs down... 27 left to go!

EDIT: They had carrot cake at work today!!!! Second week in a wrong we have cake!!! I dont diet, no cake. When I start dieting, many many wonderful cake!!

Edit 2: What i entered in the journal for lunch was actually supper and supper for lunch. I made the mistake and got too lazy to change it ;) Last edit for the evening!

1349 kcal Grasa: 94,25g | Prot: 69,05g | Carbh: 55,81g.   Desayuno: egg, potato salad. Almuerzo: egg. Cena: vinegar, olive oil, subway salad. Pasa Bocas / Otros: lindth dark chocolate 85%. más...

You're doing great!! Alls I know is what several docs have told me and thats 1200-1400 cals per day to lose. =S I know that I've been to sites that say I can have like 2200 cals and there is just no way for me to lose unless I stay below 1400... for me. :) You'll find your "magic number" as you go. Keep up the hard work!!

you can enter "custom foods". You can put something in that is just yours. but it will ask for information on cholesteral and stuff like that...you can "guess" or you can look it up online to figure it out first. You can alos look at the subaway site, get the information on it about calories, fat, carbs, etc.. and then enter them as acustom food for your journal, specially if your going to be eating there on a regular basis. Also for salads I eat out, I just estimate, I enter the mixed greens or romaine, and the individual ingredients and dressing. Its a bit of a bother, but I like keeping an accurate journal.

I also had "Taboulet" which is *i believe* a mediterranean salad (sorry i dont know the english word) and pft who knows the amount of calories is in that:) I would say not much though.

Oh if i create an entry like "My Salad" would that create a salad in my personal food database or would that create an entry for everyone in the database? So many questions, this site has improved so much since last summer. :)

Hi: There is a choice whether to keep the entry just yours or to share. I think it is on the bottom of the custom food page. Re calories: My magic number seems to be 800/day. I know-how sad! I am now trying to zig zag (a different amount every day within my range). It seems to be working-slowly but surely.

I don't think the system here for custom foods lets you "share" you own personal items, it will only let you share items that have a manufacturer's name. At least I am pretty sure thats what it has done for me. I have a lot of custom foods on my journal. It makes it easier when I'm journaling not to have to look things up all the time. You can also create "custom meals" for meals that you eat more often. Since I eat salmon and mixed veggies often, I can put it in as a custom meal and then one entry puts the entire meal on the journal for me. Breakfast Omlettes are easier that way since I don't have to enter every little ingredient every time, the custom meal click will enter them all for me.
