Thoughts on the weekend:
Hi everyone! Hope you all had a great weekend!!
It pretty much was a SBD disaster for me...We went out of town Friday for my FIL's birthday bash. Friday night, we hung out with my cousins. We started off at a local pub we love. I shared a salmon plate with DH. I made him eat the rice but he left a couple of bites that I finished. grrr...At the pub, I had 4 Jack Daniels and Diet Cokes. FOUR! At the pub!! When we got to my folks place, I had THREE MORE!! Yeah, I was pretty tanked. Amazingly, I wasn't too hung over the next morning. For breakfast, I had 1/2 of an omelet- bacon, avocado, tomatoes and mushrooms and a 1/2 slice of wheat toast. I had a bit of queasiness and thought the wheat toast would help soak up the yuckies in my stomach. We went to Sea World for a bit of the day. I didn't eat anything there except for the pistachios I had with me. We were going out to dinner at a place my DH's family have been going since he was born. I didn't want to spoil my appetite!! Since this dinner had been planned for a few months before I decided to do SBD, I gave myself a pass on dinner. It's an Italian restaurant and I ALWAYS bet the same thing every time I go- the baked zucchini. SO GOOD!! It's zucchini cut lengthwise and breaded. I'm pretty sure it's fried. Then, they layer the lengths kind of like a lasagna- sauce, zucchini, cheese. And the GOOD kind of cheese too! You know it's not fat free cheese when it stretches and swirls on your fork for miles. The dish did come with a side of pasta- which I boxed and gave to my lil bro. But I did take a bite out of DH's garlic bread and a sip of his chianti. I passed on the spumoni ice cream cake (another favorite). All in all, I didn't do too horribly during the weekend but the jeans I was wearing when I got into town seemed a lot tighter when I wore them to leave. Although, they DID just come out of the dryer....
Yesterday, we drove down to the beach and did this awesome hike. We hike at Torrey Pines. Absolutely love this place. When we lived here, we use to go there at least twice a week just to hang out and destress. We did the Beach Trail hike. It's only about a mile but if you park at the bottom of the hill, there is a HUGE incline that just kicks your butt! It seems it goes on for miles...You can either park at the bottom and walk up to the top to get to the trails or drive your car to the parking at the beginning of the trails. We started at the bottom. The Beach Trail is my favorite one- tons of views of the ocean and every once in awhile, you can see dolphins out there. At the very end of the trail, it spits you out onto the beach and then it's a good walk back to the parking lot.

Beautiful! When we were doing the hike and looking out to the ocean, I wondered why we ever moved. On the way home, we found a listing for a home near my folks. Just for Sh*ts and Giggles, we picked up a flyer for it...oh, yeah- $850,000 homes we can't afford is the reason why we left! Our home now is just as big and had most of the same upgrades. Our home we had built and is only 3 years old. The $850,000 house was built in 1997. Our home was only $180,000 when we bought it brand new!! We would have to win the lotto to be able to move back...Oh well, it's nice to day dream and be able to visit once a month, I guess.

Okay- getting back on track today! I haven't weighed myelf...I'll do it when I go to the gym tomorrow.

Breakfast:
1/2 C LF cottage cheese and about 5 cherry tomatoes

AM Snack:
Turkey roll up

Lunch:
No clue...I'm at home so I'll probably whip something up. ETA: Even at home, I didn't eat lunch! I ended up eating my AM snack more towards PM so I ended up just having 2 turkey roll ups and a handful of pistachios.

PM Snack:
Celery w/ LF Laughing Cow cheese ETA: Didn't really have a PM snack

Dinner:
Grilled Ancho Rubbed Flank Steak- page 224 of SBD Quick and Easy CB
Roasted Veggies- red bell pepper, zucchini, tomatoes
lentils?? maybe if I can find a yummy recipe...
ETA: MIL and FIL invited us over for one last birthday dinner with them. We had salad and pizza. I just ate the topping off of mine. Will save the steak for tomorrow

Don't worry too much about the weekend, just seeing that you're getting back on track is great! I'm glad you had such a wonderful weekend at such a lovely area. The walk was really good for you too. Keep it up!
