𝑰'𝒎 𝒃𝒂𝒄𝒌, 𝒃𝒂𝒃𝒚!

Net Carbs=26.61g "Gross" Carbs (incl. fiber)=31.61g (final)

Carb number might jump up because there's an avocado with my name on it. Literally. The activity lady just got back from the store with goodies for the residents. :)

Update: The avocado got a last-minute reprieve, as I was unexpectedly given a "mini-bag" of popcorn. Only broke down because it was so very tiny. Useless as a snack for adult humans, just the right size for children, garden gnomes, & keto-based life forms.

76.6/125 = 0.613 lb/ "FS day" (want to lose -.65lb/day or better) :)
447.4 - 370.8 = 76.6lb lost since got serious w/ FS.
21+31+31+30+12=125 "FS days" up to/incl OCTOBER 12th :)
455.6 - 375.6 = 84.8lbs lost overall :)

Wow. An hour or more of moderate dumbbell workout makes all the difference between losing or not losing (for me at least). It's the only factor that was consistently different during the 20-some days of stalled weight loss. Actually been eating less calories lately and it wasn't helping. The weight workout/recovery must help keep my metabolism from shutting down. Take that, cardio!!! :) [Joke. Cardio exercise is an 𝙖𝙗𝙨𝙤𝙡𝙪𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 essential part of a balanced breakfast.]

I've been doing lots of wheelchair laps & hours on recumbent stepper/cross-trainer bike, but that cardio hasn't been helping with weight loss the way the an hour or two with the dumbbells does. Lost more weight in last 5 days than the 20 days before. I've been using limited gym time on the stepper/bike. Before that, I couldn't ride the bike due to weight restrictions, and only used the weights with laps for cardio. Oops. Feel a bit thick. :)

I agree. Weight training works better for me than cardio does. Keep grinding!

Cardio isn't entirely for helping you lose weight, it's more for helping build a healthy body. It reduces stress, improves heart and lung capacity and function, and plenty more (provided it is done properly). If you did more cardio, you would find that carbs aren't harmful for your body, instead, they give your muscles fuel to keep going and flush out lactic acid. It's all much more complex than that, but I don't have time to explain it. Good luck!

Good advise for anybody. Cardio is absolutely necessary. I was only trying to say that, in my particular case, only doing cardio hasn't been enough to lose weight--even with fewer calories. I was extremely surprised, but it was the only variable different than before the plateau started--when I was losing an average of 70% of a pound a day on 2000+ calories for 110 days. I'm diabetic, so carbs are never going to be my friend whatever I do. :) After the months of strict low-carb diet & exercise, we halved my diabetes meds and my last A1C was normal for first time in a couple decades. Never happened before in YEARS of non-Keto dieting. Never stopped doing cardio, just neglected the weight training because of limited hours available in Physical Therapy room--and I was seduced by the sexy recumbent cross-trainer which has worked out my legs like they haven't be worked out in years. :) I don't suggest an excessively low carb diet to anyone who isn't obese or diabetic, and then only with some kind of supervision & only for short a short period of time. I'm in a nursing home for physical therapy so I'm monitored. Plan to work in more low-glycemic carbs when I get out of here, but just not possible at the moment with limited options in this facility. My muscle recovery has been better than ever, but I think that is due more to whey protein & having already maxed out the dumbbells here. When people here ask me about "My diet", I don't steer them to low carb, I suggest more reasonable "lower carb" and that they just keep better track of EXACTLY what they are eating through some means like FatSecret.

Weight training is king. So many benefits. Cardio is also great but if you had to drop one, it should be cardio. If you lift intensely you're working your ticker anyway.
