I'm doing fine guys. Just wanted to pop in quick. Thought you might be interested to hear it's -28 here today. Spend my day at work feeding the pellet stoves to keep warm. I'll need to clean them soon which means taking parts outside to scrape them down. Not feeling enthusiastic about that.

That was with no wind. We almost had to hand bomb 40 tons of heating pellets. Forklift didn't want to start.

I am down 7.5 in two weeks. Proly three of that was the timing and manner of my first weigh in, but keto is the way to go. No hunger for me unless I start carbing out too often. It will plateau. I don't really recommend a sustained weight loss of more than 6 lbs per month anyway. You loose muscle mass and are at risk of excessively saggy skin.

But, Marcus. What about glycogen stores and glucagon/insulin? 6 pounds a month would be way too fast for someone in the low bf% and really slow for someone who has excessive bf. Someone 400 pounds can easily, safely lose more than that in a month without risking muscle mass. Besides, muscle mass retention has more to do with protein intake and weight bearing exercise than calories, though calories too low in a lean state will always risk catabolization.

@northern musician. I certainly agree. For the average mostly healthy person 6 lbs per month is about right. Obviously one has to start with the general advice for the general person then deviate in an informed way. Bigger perps can certainly go faster assuming their liver is healthy and not working too hard metabolizing that sackfull of medicines they are taking. Smaller peeps or those prone to hypoglycemia or who are on diabetic medications need to go slower. It appears muscle catabolism depends on protein intake and total calorie deficit. You can be on a 100 percent protein diet and lose muscle mass if calories are restricted enough

Good to hear from you! Take care, keep warm...yep we've been hit with cold here in MT. Supposed to be even colder next week!

It was cold enough here this morning at 25 degrees. Can't imagine what it's like to be 53 degrees colder than that.
