I do understand, Poppycom. I made the same choice, early on - just quietly got on with it. I needed to focus on talking myself through it, not talking to others about it. When you genuinely want change, you hold yourself accountable, and honestly - that's where it has to start anyway. Be your own source of strength and inspiration! And don't worry when others do or don't notice - they will, in time. Focus on you, treat this as a gift to your future self. :-) This is your journey, and the best way to do it is whatever way works for you. But if I may offer a bit of advice - don't let the piece of cheesecake wear on your mind too much. I see that you logged it, "owned it" - and that's what matters! That is the way this works! Whatever it is, log it - own it - move on! Onward to the new day. And - congratulations on the drop as well! :)

I did the same Poppy at the beginning of this year. My eldest son used to laugh at me always being on a diet and losing nothing. Now he's asking how I've managed to stick with it this time and keeps saying I look so slim!

Way to lose EVEN with the cheesecake! If you don't feel like you would have the support of people, I wouldn't tell them either. I would just go about my business of taking care of myself. It will become evident to everyone eventually....Keep on keepin' on!

thanks everyone. this is hard my pain is bad today, but ive just managed to avoid the mr kiplings bakewell slices and kitkats in the kitchen... i took my diabetes medication instead and thought of the belly bache the sugar would give me with the metformin. Hopefully, if i keep concentrating on myself and lose some weight, i can cut down on my medications.. just written them all down and i take a minimum of 29 tablets a day..just writing that down is shocking.. no wonder my monthly meds come in a carrier bag!!! feeling motivated :) thanks everyone

It's okay to fall occasionally. I agree with Rckc I try not to tell others either because then when you do fall it feels like all eyes are watching. But remember we are human and we have the right to have a day to be mindful but fall off. This site is so supportive it is easy to get back on track! Stay encouraged/motived Poppycom - you got this!

bakewell slices, kitkats and choc croissants... what is that poison doing in your kitchen? I know what it feels like to be on a diet and not lose weight for 2 years... but i still owe up to every step i make or every slip i take. maybe i can assist you with one more word of advice: things dont have to pass your bowels to end up in the sewers! You where probably taught by your parents never to waste food, but this day and age those lessons are no longer for us! We must learn not to finish our plates, we must learn to toss out poisonious foods like kitkats, if you really have aproblem with it, just hand them to the neighbours, or the local church/ food help programm.... Stick to what you know is true, keep your head up high and i still think you should tell your loved ones, they have the right to help you!

ps: after having tossed out a couple of those foods you will also think twice buying them in the first place believe me! If you have other people living with you that can have foods like that, just write their names on the package the moment you get home. NOT YOURS! it helps me 9 out of 10 times.

Was going to ask the same question....why have these things in house?
11 nov. 16 por el miembro: Arabella66
I have 2 teenagers. They are size 6 and size 8. Like my husband, they are runners. They often have friends round. Their meals are good, but these are the snacks they eat. My husband rarely eats sugar, but sometimes snacks on these. So my kitchen cupboards do not solely belong to me
