finished day 1 of 3 day fat fast challenge and I feel GREAT! Oh wow though did I have the stress, temptation, and roadblocks yesterday! But instead of 'running' to the FOOD & DRINK I keep true to my WOE. For the STRESS (work) I took a deep breath, talked to myself a little and let it go. One time I even went into the ladies room and talked to ME in the mirror (no one else there), calmly, lovingly and that always helps. For the TEMPTATION (food/drink) I just let it go, wow that is difficult BUT it is one day.....no, sometimes ONE MOMENT at a time for me and this :-) But I am worth it and the wrong food/drink is not worth it! For the ROADBLOCKS I took 'my time' and found the 'detour' that helped me find my way back to my 'true' road/path for ME :-) One thing that has really stayed in my head these past few days was something that someone said to a group and it had something to do with "not my monkey, not my zoo" I took that to mean for me to recognize when there is something I don't have control over or can change, I really shouldn't allow this to CONTROL me and not to REACT but just to ACT in MY best interest for ME and my wellbeing. I kind of changed it as the day goes on, to 'not my monkey but I do work in the zoo'! but again, if I can't control/change it and it doesn't HURT me, then it is really NOT my issue, It just IS what IT IS (another saying this wise man says) :-) I also try to remember when it is time (at the end of the day at work, or end of a visit with someone, or something that has come up, etc) for me to 'leave', I LEAVE the zoo and allow myself to feel the Peace within and deal with 'whatever' when I 'return' to the 'zoo'. Sometimes time has allowed the issue to resolve itself or my perspective has changed, or my mind is clearer, etc. I really need to mark this journal entry and come back and re-read this on those "crazy zoo" days LOL!

Good for you on all counts! The monkey-zoo thing is one of my mantras when a drama crops up. My favorite one, though is, "They're doing the best they can with what they've got, from where they are."

oh Yes mskestrela that one 'radiates' with me also, especially when I was younger! and FL Angel YES BE in the NOW, I really like that even better then the regular, "live in the now" because BE is a stronger more active word, thank you for sharing :-) and YEP I am tempted no matter what program I'm on, so I figure I might as well be on one that is pointing me in the best direction for ME :-)
