3500 calories yesterday, but it was a pile of salt. Amazing to me that weight (not fat) can bump so radically from salt and starchy carbs.

Deload day again today. I'll stick to my regular diet as well. Everything should be sorted out by Saturday morning.

It is amazing. A day or two of starchy, salty food and weight and waist blow up. Fortunately, the reverse is also true.

I agree TX. It's a good reason to disregard weight fluctuations. Friday is a 1000 calorie day. Two days plus the cut calories should deal with the salt quite easily.

Does the same to me, that's why I watch the salt and the starchy carbs.

I haven't been exactly on plan for the last two days, looking for a hat trick today, get paid tomorrow and off to the grocery store for some real food. First time in a year that I've really strayed, not even thinking about the scale, just time to start pounding away again! You look like a professor in your latest profile pic!

Oddly, it used to be one of my nickname. Know it all tendencies, but then nobody has ever seen that here from me. :D It's kind of odd. It was hard to eat over calories with starches, which I've mostly come to think of as junk that I can against use for specific purposes. You're fine Phil. You know the drill.

It happened to me two weeks ago Northernmusician. I starched up carbed up after a successful weigh in, in the form of noodles rice and ice cream all on the same day and blew up like a balloon.

3500 calories can do it every time. There are plenty here having trouble losing weight doing 1500 calories.

This is true, Warren. I count myself extremely lucky to be cutting when I get to 2300 calories per day. I work hard for those calories though.

According to most sources, non-water, fat/muscle loss for most people ranges from 1/3 of a pound to approximately 3/4 pound per day (full fast)...mostly through respiration of carbon dioxide. Water loss/gain however can vary as much as 10 pounds in a day (depending on body size, carb/water bloat, hormones, GI tract contents, pre-existing dehydration, etc). Our bodies are made up of more water than non-water, so small fluctuations in our water weight can hide a week or two's worth of actual fat loss. As you know, the trend is the key if you are recording every day. My biggest loss/gain in recent memory was 12 pounds in 3 days, post stomach flu....Not logged of course.

Wow - Steven Lloyd - that really is true, and astounding, too. Hey Bruce, you are doing great!

Salt always seems to pile on water.
