Thanks for the support last night and today you guys. I've been fighting with family for a certain direction in care. This Thursday, I would have lost. Mom getting sick and going into the hospital, as unwanted and horrible as it is, should make things clearer to other family members about where mom would best be cared for.
I've been stressed to the max trying to get people to see it my way, and now maybe they will. In any case it is clear and if the other decision is still made I will have done everything I could. Between the prayers, the turn of event that makes things clearer, and the roll of sweetarts, bag of doritos and the caramilk bar with the commensurate sugar bonk I slept like a rock last night. Maybe that sounds heartless, but I was hoping and praying for something that would make the circumstances clearer to people.

Sorry about the problems with family. We went through the same thing with my DHs dad and sadly we lost just saying this so you can prepare if that's the case. Praying for you.

Thanks, Addie. Frankly, there are pros and cons both ways, but I tend to err toward what will make the person safest.

Cool beans, everyone. Keep 'em coming. Still waiting for further info. I had a wonderful walk with Tika. We had fun. Icy as heck. I'm going to have to buy a pair of cleats. All the packed trails are now ice.

Mom is slowly getting better. She's still incapable of a conversation but she's resting okay. This tends to be a cycle though. We'll have to see how it goes over time here for a bit.

Sending prayers your way my friend. I was in a similar position several years ago with my brother - always seemed to be a struggle to get the best care for him, always going against others (and his exwife). I hope you have some support, someone that you can vent to. The stress almost sent me over the deep end (so to speak). We are here for support as well - always. Good luck - you are a caring person.
