I started really taking my weight loss journey seriously as of 8/1 and already discouraged! I've been weight training 3x a week and doing aerobics one day a week. I've cut way back on calories. All this hard work and feeling like I'm getting no where! Where am I going wrong, what am I missing?

It can takes weeks, even when you are consistent, to lose weight. It took me 7 months to lose 52 pounds. I’ve been on my health journey for 2 years and my body is still changing. My belly is the LAST to shape up. I did low carb and ate 1700-1800 calories daily. I cut out snacking but eat 4 meals a day. I count calories too. I don’t eat much processed foods, I’d say around 90% whole fresh foods, 10% processed. I’m now in maintenance and eat 1900-2000 daily. Some days more. Seems like every 7th to 8th day, my body needs more food! If you go too low, like 1500 or below, your body may stall and hold on to fat.

It just takes time! It took me up to 8 weeks before I saw a difference but it will happen for you if you hang in there. In my opinion it’s 85-90% diet and 10-15% exercise. Exercise is incredibly important even if you’re at a healthy weight, I do it every day. But for me, as it relates to weight loss specifically, consistently monitoring my calorie intake was by far the biggest factor in weight loss success. I lost 37 lbs in 7 months by tracking everything in this app. I’m confident you can too. It sounds like you’re definitely on the right path. Good luck!

Maybe you're too low on calories; if your body thinks it's starving, sometimes it will hang onto fat. Try intermittent fasting (two big meals a day in a 6 hr window with 18 hrs of no eating between.) You won't synthesize muscle without adequate protein; you've got to eat.

Are you weighing everything you eat and logging it all? It's very important that you know how many calories you are consuming every day. Go to a site like Precision Nutrition or Health Line to calculate your RDI (required daily intake) so that you have an idea of how much to eat to lose weight. Keep in mind that if you're building muscle, you may lose more slowly or even gain a little at first, so be conscious of how your clothes are fitting, because you are probably losing inches. Good luck on your journey.

You are in incredibly low starvation mode. You are also not giving yourself enough protein to even sustain a child. 80% of weight loss is nutrition. 20% is exercise. How old are you? How tall are you? What is your goal weight? Depending on your age you need at least 800 more calories on average a day than you are giving yourself. I have adrenal failure and am post menopausal and was getting more calories than you. Your body thinks it needs to preserve all fat as it is in famine mode. Look it up on google or YouTube. That’s the short answer to no movement. My guess is you are also feeling light headed and perhaps getting headaches?

Ps. I checked your food journal unless you are not logging all food?

Did you cut back on the sugar and salt intake too? These 2 things will kill weight loss like big time.

You did not put it on in weeks, won't go off in weeks, check with tape measure, don't always look at scale!
