So this is now my official starting point for my journey of counting calories 🫡. Did my practice run last week and found it not to be that difficult 🙄 except for Saturday.
Just a question to my fellow calorie counters out here...are you trusting the apps calculation for your deficit, or did you do any other/ additional calculating to determine your deficit?

What I did is used a few calculators to see what my daily recommend calories was and they all came out the same 2300 calories so I took that number and subtracted 500 calories for my deficit = 1700 calories. I usually eat less than that but I use it as a maximum calories for the day. As you loose weight your daily recommended calories becomes less so keep an eye on it.

I have compared it with other apps and all of them are about the same. I am doing carnivore diet so I eat only meat and eggs....so I dont know about the rest of the food. Fatsecret app is just alot more convenient than te other apps for me

I do a low fat diet, counting calories and intermittant fasting. So .. without intermittant fasting I do 1500 calories and found more than this is just too much for me to eat. With intermittant fasting I skip breakfast and subtracted 200 calories .. doing 1300 calories. I normally do about 200 calories for breakfast (50g All Bran &150ml low fat milk). Trust the apps, Im not going to die if im 200 above or below the real value. I use this more as a guide, like an old school map book vs GPS

I'd suggest you use calorie calculators online just to double check, and the good ones also tell you how many calories to decrease by in order to lose weight. Get your protein in and stick to them and you should be golden

I eat 200 calories less. sometimes if I feel a meal is too much I save other half as a meal prep. The secret is finding what works for you and not to be too hard on yourself something I am learning with the amazing support from this group. Good luck!
