Stagnation. Losing sight of the goal. This is my issue. I’ve been telling myself for the passed few weeks “I’ve slipped up today, I’ll start my diet tomorrow”. And I start each day with a goal in sight and by afternoon just magically “forget”. Become mindless.

So I’ve identified what I need to do. Stop thinking of the 35kg I want to lose as “I’ll get there one day”. Start attacking it in smaller goals. Measurable goals on a timeline, because that’s how I tick!

So today, Saturday I’m 125kg and by next Saturday here’s what I want to have achieved:

- 1.5kg weight loss
- 30 mins a day of exercise
- Eat more protein, less carb at each meal but think of each meal separately, not “oh well I ate pizza for lunch, may as well have pasta for dinner”

Going to try and log each meal too.

Ok guys! I’ll report back next Saturday, hopefully with those three things done and dusted! Wish me luck!

Calorie-counting is a must! I put weight back on every time I stop counting.

Try thinking along the lines of "Oh, I had pizza for lunch...I'll have a salad with a bit of chicken on top for dinner". That works for me 😊

I have struggled for two years to lose weight. It only started coming off recently when my head was in the right space and it took time to get my mind in the right attitude. Be kind to yourself and patient. Long term change takes time.

If you treat your diet like it's just a job you need to do then you won't want to stick to it. simple fact is your diet and lifestyle is unsustainable and needs to be changed permanently and for some people this is hard to do. it doesn't mean you can never eat anything bad ever again it just means you need to figure out what your main diet needs are and work around that when it comes to junk food, sweets etc. good luck

I so can relate to how you feel, self sabotage is my demon, I work hard at eating healthy and going out for a walk, lose a few kgs, rest on my laurels , start eating the wrong stuff , putting off going for a walk, kgs come back with a couple extra to boot,

I reckon if you slip up, don't say you'll start tomorrow. Accept the slip up and try continue the day on a better note.

Thanks everyone. It really does help being accountable and to people who are on their own weight-loss goals. Not feeling my best this week. Not diet related - because I genuinely have been “mostly” sticking to my plan. Could be hormonal.
