Hello, I'm back. Lost another few lbs after a 2 month stall. I just want to share, if anyone reaches that point too, that it isn't about what you are doing right or wrong. I believe that so-called stalls are necessary for the body to recoup after a significant loss. We should remember that our bodies are created to sustain us, take the necessary steps to protect us. The body doesn't know you are doing Atkins to lose weight to be healthy. Its like an animal, like a pet almost, that just thinks you are depriving it. So it will try to go to sleep, slow down metabolically, get resistant to weight loss for a time. However, if we continue to give it good food, the right nutrients and allow it to reset itself, for however long that takes, I believe it will pick up again and begin to allow the weight to drop. One thing I've learned from doing this before is that I actually can get a bit scared myself when the weight comes off. All that fat did protect me from some things, and it was part of me for so long. So maybe we need to honor the loss, have a little ceremony bidding it goodbye and goodluck whereever it went into the universe. I know this sounds crazy, but the body is at the bidding of our minds and souls, and we can help it along by reassuring it, not panicking and getting upset. A stall is merely a reset. That is my theory and I guess I will probably get to another stall in a period of time too. Losing 44 lbs as I've done is alot of weight, and many here have lost way more than that. Just think of what that amount of weight adds up to. Anyway, these are only my thoughts, for whomever may benefit from them. The point is, we are changing our lifestyle altogether, not merely dieting so we can go back to "normal" in a year or so and eat all the bad junk out there. Read Dr. Oz's website cause he gives lots of information. Do you know about obesogens? That is stuff we have in our diets and in our environment that makes us fat. His show was about it yesterday. Read it! It will help. Blessings and hugs to all.

Silver, you and I are at almost exactly the same juncture in our journey. I am at 193 with about 53 more pounds to lose. I have lost 65. I may change my goal when I get down further, not sure, but for now, I will be happy with 140.

Many times it's not about what you are doing and just the body doing what it wants to do. But sometimes it is about what a person is or isn't doing. We might up our caloric intake by becoming lax on our journals. It could be hormonal, medicinal, stress, etc. It's always good to change things up and push through, no matter what the cause. Great job on your loss.

Great motivation, thanks all! I am in a stall currently, a little frustrated but will continue on and stick with the plan/goal. I am committed to doing whatever I have to do to get this weight off. I am losing inches and I feel like there is "less of me". I know that very soon the scale will reflect all those efforts!
