Thank you Baxie - husband of a close friend had two major surgeries last week and I've been spending my spare time trying to relieve her some of the care duties. System here is that nursing staff do drugs, drips, dressings but a family member provides 24 hour care - from feeding to emptying colostomy bags. Hard system to get used to, esp. when the friends in question are American and only arrived in the country 20 days ago! No Internet at hospital :( Don't worry, he seems to be on the mend and I'll be back, but currently surviving on grilled sandwiches!
