Here comes winter?  

I hope not. It's awfully early, though it has put the fires out mostly in this area. I do have my firewood in. With a little luck, we'll have a nice October.  

Just a timely (since it out out the fires) teaser, then. Thought snow seemed a bit early even for very northern climes. Friends visiting Alaska said they wore shorts a day or so ago, but they've worn jackets in most of the other pics they share.
