I've done pretty well today so far, and I'm pretty happy with myself. Oddly, organizing my house helps me stay on track. When the house gets chaotic, then I get chaotic with my eating.
Tomorrow is my 11th anniversary and my husband and I are going out to dinner. I'm debating between going and ordering what I want (special occasion!) or searching the menu for something that would be low calorie. We're going to the local Irish Pub. What I really want is the Guinness Stew or the Bangers and Mash, but I feel like I should probably get the salad.
I eat a lot of salad these days.

Yesterday was a really good day. I stayed well under my calories and didn't even snack in the evening. I drank lots of water and ate a good,healthy dinner. I didn't really exercise though. Today is a beautiful day, I think I'm going to force the kids on their bikes and get a run in.

This week has been better than last, but not as good as my first. The epiphany that eating breakfast made me eat less all day was a wake up call. I find myself not wanting to eat breakfast ever, and then struggling to choose what to eat when I have to do it. Today I just grabbed some slices of deli ham and ate that. It was something. And today I had a much better day. I didn't snack, I stayed in my calories. I even have enough calories for a glass of wine later if I want one.
I've been doing better with my water this week too, at least getting half of it in every day, usually more. It's been about a thousand degrees outside, so that helps. Running outside when it's this hot just isn't possible, but I've been trying to swim when I'm in the pool, rather than just float. (I like floating.)
It's Wednesday. We have guests again on Saturday but this time only one night. I premade cinnamon rolls and muffins for breakfast while they are here, which is fine because I really don't care for those types of breakfast anyway.
Now, I need to find an egg recipe that uses zucchini.

I'm glad that week's over. Preparing for and having visitors is hard and chaotic, and chaos leads to me not eating right. Today starts a new week and I'm determined to get back on track. It's not even 8:30 and I'm having my first glass of water.
I did really well this weekend with exercise. I ran both Saturday and Sunday. I biked on Sunday. I walked the dog a bunch of times. I did a few hours of yard work in the hot hot sun. I think that's really what kept me from gaining this week, since my eating was not very good.
So back on the horse today. Guests are preparing to leave and we won't have guests again until, uh, Saturday. We get a lot of guests in the summer. Because we have a pool.
