Hello, FatSecret friends! I am 44 years old, single mom of an awesome 11 year old son (who is knocking on the door of puberty!!). I teach 4th grade and I want to devote my summer break to getting fit and losing weight.

I have gained 20 pounds this year and I have found myself depressed because of the gain. I am not as social as I once was. In fact, I avoid most social activities. I recently attended my nephew's graduation which meant returning to my hometown......I was ashamed of myself.
