Diario de HealthyKayG, 05 abr. 18

Yesterday I went to the doctor and had to put on a robe. When the doc came in to the room he told his nurse they need to get bigger robes coz not everyone is small!!! I was so hurt that I went home and burried myself in food,then my hubby comes home and says "but babe, you cant lose weight when you are stuffing your face with food all the time" so yah!!!! Here I am starting my journey to a healthier me.

At almost 100kg when I could no longer paint my toes with comfort I decided to turn this thing around and believe me, if I can do it, anyone can!

Don't let it get to you. You're not alone, everyone here is on the same path as you, you just have to stay strong and let the 'criticism' motivate you to keep going.

Last year December I took my car in for service. the guy who was our shuttle driver told me to sit in the backseat because i was "hefty" and the skinny girl to sit shotgun. I don't think he meant it in a bad way but oh the pain of it all...you are not alone and sharing these stories helps...lots of hugs for you

Be strong!!!! and yes you are not alone.... and as much as the comments would hurt me too, I still would be thinking in my head, yes you are right not everyone is small, and not everyone is as stupid as you either!!!!!

What irritates me most is when people comment on how"fat you've become". Seriously you don't know what the person is going through. It could be health problems. And most of the time in my case it's the people that can eat anything they want and stay skinny. They have no idea what we are going through and yes sometimes they don't mean it as an insult but it hurts and they are insensitive.

I once had someone pat my huge midsection and ask when I was due and you just gotta get up and dust yourself off and keep moving forward towards your goals - even if they're just baby steps at first!

Its awesome when people comment on the fact that you’ve lost weight, but b*tch better shut up about me getting fat 🙈 it sucks, i know, but you CAN and WILL overcome this! Good luck on your journey, and remember that it should become a lifestyle, not just another diet. 💪💪

Hi HealthyKayG, 1st thing you need to know is you are not going to loose weight for anybody else. You are going to loose for you and your health. (For me the health implications are the most important). 2nd I eat because I get bored, when I'm busy I don't feel so hungry. You need to find what triggers the eating and try to deflect that. 3rd we all fail from time to time, if we didn't mankind would never learn anything. So good luck

I know it's harsh for the doctor to say doctors can be notoriously insensitive, but all that matters is that you are willing to take the steps to change it, the worst thing you can do is let the criticism get to you in a negative way we have all been down that road where we try to bury our pain in food because we feel hopeless and like nothing is going to change whether we binge or diet. But can I tell you a secret, if you stick to a healthy lifestyle, everything will get better and you will feel great I guarantee you, it's just getting your brain around the initial adjustment and from there on out remembering why you started. An important thing to remember is that a healthy permanent weight loss should be treated like a marathon not a race, one step at a time one goal at a time Make sure your goals aren't unrealistic e.g I want to be a supermodel in the space of a month at the start of your journey. instead aim to loose 3 to 4kgs a month if you can lose more that's great but don't compromise your health at any point to achieve that weight loss it kicks into a yo you mentality. when you eat, eat to feed your body and when I say feed your body I mean nutritionally make sure you are consuming the right portion of fruit and veggies and all that good stuff what I try to do when I am preparing food at home is to make sure I have something of every different color veggies wise on my plate especially green that's a good color. also what I find super helpful and inspiring is to watch weight loss and health documentaries, I am unsure if you have Netflix but some inspiring shows are "From Fat to Finish line" and " Fat and almost dead" also I am watching this informative series called "Cook your ass off" they give some really awesome tips on nutrition. then there is a documentary called "functional fitness" i.e cross fit which is what I do but it's a nice informative watch if you are interested in finding an exercise activity. But the more you know the easier your journey will be so keep researching and learning it really helps to be armed with knowledge instead of going in blind. other than that good luck, keep your chin up and realize nothing is impossible and the only thing standing between you an success is nothing but the demons in your personal food closet, but you can conquer them you have the sword use it:)

Thank you guys. The support here is super amazing!!! Looking forward to his journey. @ijustwanttofeelgood I will definitely look for those documentaries. I have made A4 poster with these words "the only thing standing between you and success is nothing but the demons in your personal food closet, but you can conquer them you have the sword use it" :) :)
