Ok once again have been up all night. This started in my second day of keto and last night Does anyone have this problem and will it go away? I need sleep.

I did struggle a few nights when I started (haven’t slept great for many years) but this was worse. It didn’t last long and now I’m sleeping better than before.

Oh that's great to hear. I only had a problem sleeping for a few months because I would wake all night with hot flashes. Fixed that with vitamin e. I never have problems sleeping otherwise but for some reason now I just keep waking also legs aches. Drank some power aide today and will take Tylenol pm tonight.

Everyone is different...the leg cramps could be caused by low electrolytes. I had this too for a while. I take 1/4t nosalt (potassium supplement) twice a day and natural calm (magnesium supplement) twice a day. Upping potassium has helped the leg cramps. Good luck!

When you say nosalt you mean from the shaker right? Not a pill.

I have had an issue with just having too much energy in the evening so no can't wind down. it is getting better slowly though

Thank you momma6224. I just can't wait to feel better like everyone says happens. Pretty tired. Maybe because don't sleep through the night. Last night was better took Tylenol pm. Need some energy so I can at least walk on the treadmill.

I have been doing this for 8 weeks and I haven’t seen an increase in energy like others—I’m sorry to tell you that! I don’t sleep great at night—it’s gotten a little better the last week or so but still no energy increase. I feel better than before eating this way though so I will continue!

I sleep but my energy level sometimes prevents me from sleeping long. I have never gotten more than 5-6 hours a night anyways though. Try taking a 5mg melatonin. It's a natural hormone that our bodies produce that helps induce sleep. I take them when I feel I really need the sleep. It's better than taking tylenol pm. You can take up to 10mg if 5 doesn't work. I just like keeping things as natural as possible for my body. Maybe it'll help you!

What is the issue with your sleep? Hot / cold / leg cramps / ??? Have you tried taking 3 mg Melatonin about 1/2 hour before bedtime? Re: Energy: Keto adaptation can be slow. At first, your muscle glycogen will drop, but after 6 months. should return to normal as your body switches to making it from protein instead of glucose. Also being low in salt can make you lethargic - be sure to get 2 cups of salty broth or bouillon every day, with one taken before exercise. Long term, keto provides a steady source of energy because you draw on fat reserves instead of glucose; and fat reserves are much bigger.

Gz9gig had a problem with hot flashes before diet but the were controlled with vitamin E. I am now having them once in a while but I will be sound asleep now and just wake up for no reason. My legs were real aches today but I took a potassium pill because power aid wasn't working. I was also told to use no salt which I did because I had it in the house because I have high blood pressure. They seem pretty good right now. Just real tired. Hoping it's just the day I am in Long Island and we are having a nor'easter
