Have a question for anyone doing keto? Do we count carbs or net carbs? And if it's net carbs does this app do it for us? Also I bought a Atkins French vanilla shake in a pinch. Is that allowed?

I follow Keto. Some will say total carbs and some will say net carbs. Personally I go by net and it works for me.

You can choose either net or total carbs in this app. I track both!

Do you know what this app tracks.?Mine just says carbs. I am trying to eat 20 and keep my calories in check. Not easy.

Net carb counting is mostly for those with diabetes. Count carbs as on the label listed under carbohydrates.

I do Keto and count total carbs, not net carbs. For me, this is what works best. Once I'm where I want to be weight wise, I'll adjust my carbs and try net carbs. This app counts total carbs. But it will also list sugar and fiber

Thanks everyone. I will stick to total carbs. I did Atkins years ago and remembered it was net carbs.

IF you want to track more than just carbs, go to FS on a PC, go to settings, and check the boxes that apply, then hit save. I track fiber, net carbs, and sugar. I'm not diabetic but I read it is good to keep sugars under 22 grams. Diabetes does run in my family. The regular chart will always show total carbs regardless of the other things I check. Why not see all what you can, even if you don't particularly want to track it.

I count both, trying to keep net carbs under 3 grams per serving. I use the EAS Advantage Carb Control Shakes. 17g Protein, 100 Calories, 2.5g net carbs or less, and no sugar, no dairy, and no cholesterol.

I'll probably catch he!! for this but (1) It is net carbs and (2) Atkins lies to you about how to compute net carbs. That's why they tell you to not consume any of their products on ketosis. Sugar alchohols are processed in your body and are not the same as fiber. Do your own research though.

Just remember that you can only check off 6 boxes to follow under nutritional facts.

I use net carbs, but track both. You can choose what food elements you would like to show up on your food diary. Some are standard (Protein, fat, carb, fiber, calories) but you can add other items such as net carbs and sodium.

If you click on the gear symbol on the left and within the blue band underneath the words "Food Diary," you can adjust what displays in your food diary.

I go by net although observe total. But I'm no longer trying to lose a significant amount and have a nurseling. So I'm more moderate keto. Still, I've dropped my carbs by a big percentage. With nursing Im hungry often so some days I go over calories. I 100% believe it's finding what works for your body.

I track the net carbs as they impact my blood sugar

My primary doctor has me following diet doctor and and LCHF book by Jason Fung. My doctor says to use carbs, but I still have both carbs and net carbs checked off in the food diary nutritional facts under settings.

I monitor nett carbs, stay under 20g a day, although I need to find my carb limit as I have been on a bit of a stall.

For keto, track total carbs. Some people are more tolerant of carbs than others.

Hi ! I am on Keto too and you need to track net carbs. As above - 20g per day. A good Facebook page to help is called LowCarb World. Good luck !!

If you are new on Keto track carbs - the fiber = net carbs of which is most important..I would not start at 20g per day as your body might go into shock called Keto Flu headaches, body aches. constipation etc. I would Start higher 50-70 and work your way down, to give your body time to adjust to the new WOE, took me 2 months to finely not feel ill and get on a healthy path to keep it off..Sometimes you can also use your own body fat as a fat deficient, instead of actually adding extra fat. Use your body fat as your fat addition, which will also accelerate your weight loss...Good luck !!!
