More good days of exercise and following the diet. Today was weight lifting, yesterday was 50 mins of cardio along with my abs workout. Feeling pretty strong and fit these days.
I'll probably weigh in tomorrow. One funny thing is that I was using the scale at the gym, which is one of the balance type scales like you see at doctor's offices. You know, side the weight to 100 or 150 or 200 or whatever and then adjust accordingly until it's balanced. The scale was reading about 3 or 4 pounds heavier than I thought I ought to be and I got all bugged out about it! After I took my shower I went to the scale again (a glutton for punishment, I guess) and looked at it more closely. I realized that someone had stretched an elastic cord with a swimming pass on it (kind of like a hair tie elastic band) tightly around the left side of the scale balance. It's just a small thing, but with the way those scales work it was totally screwing up the reading. I took that off and magically my weight plummeted down 5 pounds!
I share this because I laughed at myself afterwards. I was so hung up on the scale reading that I became quite distressed and really disregarded all the other signs my body gives me to tell me I'm getting fitter and thinner. Sometimes it's easy to forget that the scale reading is just one indicator of our fitness and health. It's not the "capital T Truth" or the last say on our self worth. One of those lessons I know rationally, but this experience made me think about it again.
Anyway, happy trucking.

You are doing an excellent Job Herbie, I absolutely agree about the scale and one's weight. Your body will let you know how you are doing. Keep it up and you will soon reach your goal.
