FInally this would not let me comment on your journal!! I am so freakin happy for you!! Number 1. I get it about nursing school. When I was in High School I faked sick the weekend of Cheerleading camp because my coach told us that we had to run a few miles everyday, turned out she was just trying to scare us and that wasnt true at all!! But I get it completely, its sad how much weight can define a person. But look at you now, making things happen!! I love it I love it I love it!! And a job you enjoy...seriously things are more than looking up for you love!!! YAYYY for you :-)

Awesome! Its so great that you are going back to nursing school. I understand completely about the weight, I had to do the same thing last year when doing vital signs, and I weighed 284. It sucked.

That's wonderful Sarah! I think - just from reading your journals and comments here - you have the right attitude and personality for caring for others. You will be a great at it. Good luck telling the boss about your decision. ** regarding the reason you quite nursing in the first place, that really hit home with me. when we were in college picking majors, one of the reason's i didn't go towards the medical/science fields was having to take physiology class where we'd investigate our body's vital statistics.

Congrats Sarah! Don't feel bad about leaving your current job - Life is too short to stay at a job where you aren't happy. So sad about nursing school. Amazing how much our weight defines us. I sat here and thought about whether I've done anything like that. I haven't quit school or anything too drastic, but I did avoid going out with a friend because I didn't have any cute clothes that fit me anymore. I think I did that a lot. My weight kept me from enjoying myself. So sad. Glad we are all in a different mindset now!

I think it's a fabulous decision and if she's mad it's because she's losing a good employee. She'll get over it. Go kick some butt in nursing school!! You'll do awesome!

Nursing school is a great path. Good for you. You better be proud of all you've done and not second guess yourself when you get in that class. You have done more for yourself in the last couple years than most do in their entire life. Be proud. We are proud of your success!
