I started listening to Inside Out Weight Loss which is very helpful and interesting. The concept is mainly visualization which I've done a little in the past but haven't seriously considered it. One of the visualization exercises is to visualize what you want to eat when you feel it's time to eat. Once you have figured out what to visualize, then visualize how that food makes you feel after 2-3 hours.

Unfortunately, I did not do this yesterday when I was running around prepping my house for an appraisal but on my regular days in the office when I want to snack all the time, this may be helpful since it's tuning in to what my body wants and needs instead of my taste buds. I can still eat foods I enjoy but I haven't serious taken the time to consciously do it.

The morning, I did about a half hour of yoga before getting ready for work. Then, I made some coffee and drank it on my commute. I typically eat breakfast before I leave but I wasn't hungry. As I drove to work, I started thinking about what I can have for breakfast that would allow me to feel comfortable through the morning. I started thinking of an Egg McMuffin. Now, this isn't the healthiest treat but it's a start. I had some options in the office that I keep for lunch but I really didn't want to eat the same thing for breakfast because I've learned that variety keeps me going on a stable eating pattern. I know I can get decent amount of protein from an Egg McMuffin. Of course the muffin part isn't whole grain so I started thinking I should make one but realized I didn't have time to go to the store and couldn't get a nicely toasted muffin at work. So I went for the Egg McMuffin and asked for no cheese and got just the sandwich. And, since I had about half hour until I had to be in the office and only 10 min away, I actually sat in the restaurant and ate the sandwich as slowly and as consciously as I could.

When I was done, I felt so much better. I felt satiated and now I'm in the office feeling ready to work. It's been about an hour since I ate and I'm not nervously thinking what I'm going to eat next!
