Carbondale, Illinois was the spot to see the eclipse for the longest time. That's great and all, but by only being 3 hours away, and getting off of work at 7pm that meant I got stuck in traffic for HOURS. It was ridiculous. The 40 miles in between the city I work and my hometown there were three accidents. How? We were literally only going 5-10 miles an hour, and only when were weren't stopped!! By the time I got into town (traffic lined all the way through our 4,600 population town), I was so frustrated and angry I needed something bad.
So, to Hardee's I went. I was reading the menu trying to decide what I wanted, and I just felt terrible. So terrible. Everything was so high in calories and I didn't want to have something THAT bad. But, I made the decision to go walking after I ate, and Chuck agreed to come along. So, I (h)ate my feelings. Apparently, that was exactly what I needed. It felt so good, and it gave me energy, surprisingly. We walked for an hour, then went home.
Overall, I officially didn't get home until 11pm.. but as my 2 year old niece says, "Sometimes bad things happen."
