So, generally, yesterday was successful on all fronts. My mums cousin was delighted to see us. Mum and Maureen chatted all day. Maureen enjoyed showing us where all her favourite shops were.
She gave me a large bag full of unused handbags for my girls... orla keily/giraffe/cath kidson/ east etc. They were beautiful and my girls are thrilled. Such a generous gift . They gave us a great welcome. Her husband said she was "over the moon to see us" and I have promised to take mum back again .
We ate at a chain called "cote".. a French brasserie. We had lunch from the specials menu.. I choose tomato and Parmesan salad , followed by chicken, Roquefort and walnut salad. Had a little of the dressing for both, which I had served separately. And no desert or wine, or bread, only water .and only 2 of the mini croutons.. tried to look up values online, but couldn't find them ( and monthly menu has changed today as it it the 1st July)
On the way back, my mum was very unwell.. not like her at all..think it was emotion of the day/dehydration. She was overcome with dizziness and blurred vision, then d and v.. I honestly thought I'd need to call an ambulance to the service station.. But then she improved and I got her home after a rest and some water❤️
When we got home , she had a little rest, then made me a slice of toast And reminded me to take my meds.. this was my " unavoidable carbs"".. as I ate half the toast and she was happy, as she knows I sometimes vomit if I don't eat with my meds.
My snacks all day were a packet of almonds, water and 2 teas.
My auntie will buy a dress or bag. Then go back the next day and buy another one the same, or in a different colour and her husband does the same for her. To make her happy, although she is dying. They were never able to talk about being infertile. Maybe nowadays they could have had help and support. They can buy anything they want, but would have made great parents. They are a lovely devoted couple and this is so sad. Her husband said my mum is the kindest person he has ever met and my mums love and support is what's kept Maureen going 😥
I need to be strong and healthy to be there for my kids and my parents.
So, all fired up and motivated. Onwards and downwards through the 160s
