this looks so good but I would not eat all those tortillas I would change them out for some lettuce leafs. other than that. is it carnitas or beef?

Thanks gilocriv, the meats are al pastor, beef, carnitas and chicken. I ate 2-3oz of each one with a total of 8 small corn tortillas. I agree that eating it without tortillas is a good idea but according to the Fat Secret App i'm supposed to get about 40-50% of my calories from Carbs. I'm typically not eating enough Carbs so I thought I'd eat these tortillas to help. I'm still struggling a bit on how much Carbs vs. how much Fats to actually eat. My first goal was to eat my bodyweight in Protein (grams). I see you're steadily dropping weight. How did you decide on Carbs vs. Fats?

@ laokie75 the way I decided was I went to the keto calculator site I'll have to look for the link another user gave it to me. it pretty much helps you figure out what your intake should be. You have to mess with it and see what works for you. I found out if I drop lower than 50 grams of carbs I get headaches and have to increase it. I have been trying to stay under 85 grams but keep going over. as for the protein I was doing the same 1 gram per body weight but the draw back with that is that all our body weight is not muscle so the excess is converted to carbs carbs to fat. so from the calculator and body chart mine came out to be around 130 or so. But like I said you have to adjust and find what works for you. Sunday I will re weight my self and re adjust again. hope this helps. and once I find calculator I'll link it.

Gilocriv sounds like you're going more for the keto diet; which is of course High fat (usually 50%+) and very low carb (usually < 15%). Keto is a bit of a mind f&$% but once you get over that it's not terrible. I ate lots of avocados, grassfed butter, and healthy oils. I did this for a few weeks and was actually pretty successful but it's not easy and then reverse dieting out of it is important. I guess I'll keep going for the Protein thing and then just keep my calories under my RDI each day. If that doesn't help I'll talk to a nutritionist and/or get back to keto but stay on it longer. Thanks for you feedback!

Cool just keep at and don't get discouraged. Once I reach my goal of 160 I will figure out the maintenance phase and see what works for me. Most likely I will go for more muscle mass once I do reach 160 but I'll wait to figure that out once I cross that bridge. lol Have a good one.

OH hey i didn't read all of your main post...so I thought I'd add one bit of info in regards to your "keto" type diet. You were getting headaches under 50g of Carbs which is pretty normal. They call this the keto flu and might feel like crap at first. I got the low grade headache for like 3 days and then i started adding Himalayan salt to my avocados and water which seemed to help. To actually prove your into ketosis you'll need to use a test kit (cheap at a Walgreens). Being in keto will burn more fat for energy but if you're doing fit with what you're doing i'd say keep at it. Just wanted to share with you my experience. And yes that 1g/lb of muscle shoudl be based on lean muscle mass, you're right. Again thanks for the encouragement! Off to the gym :)
