So grocery store has ground beef on sale so I bought some for the kids to have beef burgers while I had turkey burgers. It was the family pack so I had a pound and a half left over. What to do with it?

There was one obvious answer ... spaghetti and meatballs. Been really wanting olive garden for awhile, but it is so expensive and so unhealthy. So I decided to make it myself. Saved my calories all day for this (made through the day only consuming 370 calories) plus I walked an extra mile and a half at lunch (bringing me up to 5.5 for the day).

After adding a half bottle of wine, Olive Garden style bred sticks and a cup of tiramisu light ice cream for dessert, the meal rang in at just under 1700 calories.

I am stuffed. Sad part is, this would be considered a small serving of food for me 6 months ago.

Great work on portion control. But for better Blood Pressure, a little less wine (no more than 2 servings for a man), substitute whole grain bread for the white, and substitute in some vegetables for some of the pasta. A salad ( watch out for the sodium and fat in dressings) , and add vegetables, such as spinach, broccoli, onions, zucchini in with the pasta. Or have them on the side.

Oh definitely not a "healthy" meal Bmr. [Sodium was over 2200mg, fat over 54g, and cholesterol was 194g.] I will not likely eat this way again for a long, long time, but this was a "splurge" that I had planned into my diet. I do not endorse this meal for anyone here! Instead, if you want pasta I suggest what I normally would have (by normally, I mean 2017 new me "normally"). Whole wheat pasta, multi-grain bread [or skip the bread], 4 oz wine, ultra lean meatballs, and a side salad with homemade honey mustard dressing.
