What a beautiful day 30degrees Celsius wall to wall sunshine, but I needed to take my better half shopping. A couple of hours later we returned laden down with all sorts.

I was desperate to get out on the patio and get involved in some serious sunbathing.

After shooing the kitties off of the sun loungers, (I’m sure they were all German holiday makers in a previous life). Top off and shorts allowing my legs out for an airing I sprawled out and started to enjoy a few rays.

Lulu Lowcarb flitted out to join me with a couple of her turbo Pimm’s cocktails. Our lunch was ready, but neither of us was going to put the plates out on the patio dining table until we had polished off our pimms pint glasses.

I had put on a vinyl LP by the Beatles. The sounds of “Good day sunshine” drifted through the French windows. Having downed half the Pimm’s and getting a little merry and hot in the direct sunshine we got up and dusted off our best 70’s dance moves. Well it was one way of getting a flow of air over hot skin. All too soon the first side had finished. I had forgotten how short those vinyl records were in comparison to modern day CDs. So disappeared into the lounge and found another Beatles record this time the “Revolver” album “Taxman” boomed out followed by “Eleanor Rigby” and others. Ah sweet memories.

By the time the LP had finished we had both finished our first Pimm’s, time for lunch, a cheese and tuna salad, with sweet corn radishes and onion, we washed it down with a glass each of Apple cider vinegar. All too soon lunch was finished. The only thing I wanted to do now was indulge in our competitive sun bathing, but with another glass of Pimm’s. Lulu did her bit with the Pimm’s while I cleared away the luncheon plates.

Much later when I came to enter the drinks into my food diary I noticed the carbs in the turbo Pimm’s cocktails. There were 68 grams of carbs and 727 calories in just two pints of the stuff. Oh well that blew a hole in my carb intake for the day, but it was a great day. I will have to be more careful tomorrow. :o)

The Quo’s early stuff was excellent my favourite Quo numbers, “Whatever you want” and “Rockin’ all over the world” particularly when John Coghlan was on drums. Wow what a beat. My favourite pop rock pop group from that era was Queen, with Freddie Mercury’s incredible vocal range and such a powerful vocals.

Pink Floyd? Love David Gilmour. Amazing guitarist. Anyway, great photo and your day sounded idealic. Never mind about the carbs. Some days you just need to go with the flow :)

Your so right Doobs. Yes I have a few of their albums, Ummagumma, Obscured by clouds, Meddle and of course Dark side of the moon. Some of their album tracks where a bit strange, i.e. “Several species of wee furry animals gathered together in a cave grooving with a Pict.” That has to be the longest track name on any of my records. Their albums were outstanding, but my favourite will always be “Dark side of the moon.” Best track - “Money”. I had a quadraphonic eight track player in my car at the time and it was mind blowing. Oh you have me going now. My favourite quad tape was a demo by Crosby, Stills and Nash. “Train to Marrakesh” A true full, (Not synthesized) quadraphonic recording. Each member of the group was recorded on a different channel. The sound was awesome it was as if I was sitting in with the band. :oD

Windle - we have a dvd by David Gilmour - Live at The Royal Albert Hall. Best album ever. We watch it at least once a year snuggled up on a cold winter's evening. I'm sure you would enjoy it :)
