The Isopure Vanilla is great. I had it with water and liked it. It comes in a bunch of flavors. It is kinda expensive but to me its worth it.

what did just add water? sometimes I add soymilk or skim milk which made it better tasting.

I usually just like to add water, since I don't do well with remembering to keep milk on hand

I buy one a Nutrishop which is individually owned chain so don't know if you have one there..made by VitaSport Protein Synthesis. I don't mind it with water. I usually do a few frozen berries and almond milk blended with the vanilla - yummy!

Maybe you do not like whey protein? there are a few other options for protein...egg protein, pea protein, etc.

you may want to try cookies and cream. I love isopure and optimum gold. Warning on pea protein the unflavored is horrible.

Looked up some time ago for caloric info on BCAA's, it is supposed to be as follows: 1g of leucine is 6.524 kcals, 1g of isoleucine is 6.523 kcals and 1g of valine is 5.963 kcals. Generally BCCA's are sold as 2:1:1 or 4:1:1 so it makes it around 32 kcals per 5g of serving.

Thank you for the suggestions! I don't have a problem with whey protein, just with finding a vanilla flavor I like

Sabribertug, that's interesting. I don't know how they can claim on the package that they are zero calories then

I've been using EAS Pure Protein French Vanilla. I like it a lot.

Re: BCAA's. It's a regulation. If any products serving size is under a certain amount of calories, they can legally claim it is calorie free. I'm not sure where the cutoff is.

I use BCAAs and glutamine and both claim zero calories -

Yes, Northernmusician that's true. Looking through FDA's website and in summary if there is less than 5 kcal per serving it is calorie free, less than 0.5 fat it is fat free and etc. Government institutions and companies are buddies I guess...

Optimum Nutrition Gold Standard protein powders are very good in taste and quality...my favorite is chocolate malt but vanilla is good.

Notelaine, I use a clean whey isolate that has BCAA' s included (if you're interested)...I only mix it with water and the taste and consistency is not at all hard to take, 30 gm serving yields; 27 gm protein, 115 cal, 1 gm carb, 2889 mg Leucine, 1512 mg Valine, 1674 mg isoleucine, 2997 mg Lysine.

I really like BioX power whey isolate. It's 31g protein, 0 sugar, and 130 cal per serving , but best of all to me it tastes like a vanilla cup cake, lol. It's pretty pricey though, but I'd rather pay the money and be able to drink it. Oh, and I mix it with just cold water and chug it.

Use unflavored, and add vanilla extract if you choose. I get whey protein isolate (unbranded) from the local health food store.
