Hello to all my FatSecret friends. I am sorry I have been so absent this past month but it has been killer busy. I am so happy to once again be able to relax more and refocus on my health. I've missed you all and I'm looking forward to catching up with you.
For me, November is always my busiest month and I end up feeling like I'm losing my mind before it's over. I love December because it means rest after the craziness leading up to Thanksgiving. So, this leads me to what I'm thankful for...
7 Things I'm Thankful For:
1 - December - This is my relaxing time. Most people are going crazy with Christmas, but I have my list and most of it done already, work slows during this month and life slows as my family unwinds at the end of the year.
2 - DVR's - I think we all enjoy the chance to escape. Since my life has been so busy, I haven't had the opportunity to watch my favorite shows and thanks to the digital age, DVR's save my recordings and give me a chance to do my catching up now. It works well since after sweeps most shows go into replay mode and I now get to see new to me episodes.
3 - Books - I'm an avid reader and I LOVE the escapism that I can find in a good book. Although I love all kinds of books because I love to read interesting stories about people and places, my favorites are series of books that allow me to really get to know the characters. I'm an odd duck of sorts because I can sit down and read some sci-fi thriller and then pull out a little romance, never ignoring my love of biographies. I started two new books yesterday and I'm excited to see what else I get through this winter.
4 - Challenges - One of the things I've missed the most about FS has been the challenges. They are great at keeping me focused by keeping me accountable. I joined three new ones today and I'm ready to go.
5 - Blankets - One of my favorite past times is curling up under a blanket with a cup of cocoa or tea and reading a book. Blankets are comforting, warm and inviting. I'm enjoying sitting under one right now.
6 - Idaho Weather - I realize that it would be nice to live in California or Texas and not have to deal with the snow and ice, but I prefer to experience all the seasons. Here in Idaho I get snow in the winter, rain in the spring, sun and shine in the summer and beautiful fall leaves in the autumn. The snow and ice maybe be cold but I wouldn't have it any other way.
7 - Jesus - Who has given me so much joy and peace in my life. Without whom I'd be lost. Thank you!!
