Ok -- this was stupid: I had to get out of the house by 5:55 am this morning to take my housemate to the hospital for some surgery. I knew I shouldn't start out with nothing in my stomach, so I had a glass of milk and one of my oat muffins. I should have had cold sliced turkey and a piece of cheese. Woulda coulda shoulda. Now I've been sitting in the hospital cafeteria for 3 hours, smelling food. I've eaten a good breakfast, but because there's so little I can actually eat, it was higher carb than I'd normally eat. Then of course I got hungry again so I had a Luna bar. Now, I pretty much have to eat only protein and fat for the rest of the day or I will be way over on my carbs. Maybe one day before I die I will be able to have rational thoughts before 8 am.
