Diario de Berry Well 42, 24 jul. 24

Pulling myself out of my 3-day homemade junk and salt binge. I saw it but didn't stop it. I feel better about things now and I'm proud it didn't get worst. I've had some serious falls when it came to binging where I ate half my weight in food and just didn't stop. It was all restaurant food.

I kept telling myself I didn't want to lose what I have gained so it's time to stop. The source of it was fear again. I'm stepping into the unknown and I have to remind myself that the unknown doesn't have to be scary. It's just new and that can be exciting. I just have to pick my mental direction and stay there. I choose happiness.

It can be very difficult to get and stay in the best mental place for good health. I’m wishing you the strength to help you in your journey.

It's easy to gain weight eating out all the time. I did that for 3 months while my house was for sale. Sometimes it takes a few tries to get back on track.

Thank you @Mountainman2 and @LoveMnMs. Sometimes just thinking nice thoughts can be a struggle but I'm happy to say for now things are balanced. Ijust don't want to hurt myself taking refuge in my belly anymore.

Try to not bring binge triggers to your home and please don’t say, “it’s for my husband and son”. They don’t need some of those things either. If you want a treat or a salty fix make yourself either walk to the store to get it or at least have to drive to the store. You have done really well, keep going and create ways to discourage that binge or at least make it harder or less convenient.

I think I recommended the Workbook "The Glow approach by Dr Lyn Shroyer" for emotional eating to you before! One of the tips in there is to have an action plan in place when you are feeling this way. "When I feel XYZ, I will abc instead of eating." write it down, tape it to the fridge of cupboard. some examples that have helped me were taking a shower, going outside and looking for something of every color in the rainbow, go for a walk, write down everything while drinking water and destroy the paper when done, chew gum, brush your teeth, talk to someone you trust, listen to your favorite music, go for a drive...etc What has to happen is the ability to de-associate this emotion with food.

@Kenna Morton it didn't have anything to do with them. My husband is super fit and rarely eats junk foods. I'm the bad influence there. I just kept eating the bad popcorn made with too much oil and butter. (I have an airpopper to make fresh healthy popcorn.) After that, I made peanut butter cookies and didn't portion them. I ate half one day (8) and the other half the next (8 more) the next day.The serving size is one. None of the snacks in the store affect me because I don't eat soy and almost everything in the store is made with soybean oil. You are correct, if it's not in the house, you won't eat it. I have to make my junk food by hand and I noticed with my food habits I was over-eating again so I needed to get myself in check. Thank you so much for your encouragement and that awesome tip. For me the best way to discourage my binge is to not run away from my feelings. I have to face them and be honest with myself. That's what brought me out again.

Thank you DAZEY_iz_Well that's an awesome tip. I'll check that book out. I'm not sure if you recommended it before but I'm glad you repeated it now.

@Fritzy22 that's so true. Even the small portions are too much as far as nutrition goes. (not saying you can never ever have it, but excess does add up fast.) Thank you for that encouragement. I know I'm back again.

Berry if you want a cookie every now and then, just make one. Tons of recipes online for one cookie in a mug etc. That way, there’s only one to eat, no binge possible? Idk. I’ve never binged, just a tip that popped into my head. Anything to help you. 🩷💜

Berry, sometimes it takes a few redos to get back on track. Keep moving forward and just a tip...I buy the snack size bags and prep my snacks in them. Eat Veggies and fruits! For me a trigger is nuts or trail mix. I put 1/4 c in a bag and put bag away ! If I don't, I'll munch on it all day.

@wifey9707 thank you. That's a great tip. I just found a cookie in a cup recipe and brownie in a cup.

@Diana 1234 thank you. So true. It's a lifetime marathon and I have to do better. Making snack bags is an excellent tip. I'm so excited to plan for my next month of meals. I'm hoping having fresh meat options instead of the pouch or cup will help me control my salt better and be fuller.
