So out of it this weekend due to the hostile environment setup by my boss. It was so bad that I came home with an upset stomach and my arthritis pain flared up. I don't understand why she does what she does. I do everything she asks. I really think it's age discrimination and she wants me to retire.

Thank you for the advice. Everything's out of control at work. The stuff she does to me is unimaginable. I finally told her I'm retiring this year. I just can't put up with the catty, unprofessionalness anymore. Even one of my coworkers, who feels he's targeted too, said she is the one creating a hostile work environment. He caught her cutting me down, calling me names, gossiping about me, and telling other staff members personal stuff about me behind my back. She hands out vague write-ups, with false information, like candy to him and me. She withholds work related information from me, took key related responsibilities away from me and given them to her pets, changed my schedule and gave someone else my original schedule plus hired an unqualified employee to work with him, and she'll tell everyone something different than she tells me so I follow her word and everyone gets mad at me. The worst part about it is that H.R. supports her, so nothing will be done about the situation. Can't wait to retire and leave all the nastiness behind.

Magpiezoe, you deserve peace. People like this are deeply troubled. I know you understand that her behavior is a reflection of her own self, and in no way a reflection of your inner beauty. Keep to your inner peace. Moving on is probably the absolute best thing you can do for yourself. 💙🕊☮️ Sending so much love your way.

You should document, document document. After you retire you may want to talk to a lawyer, or talk to a lawyer now. This could end up giving that retirement a nice boost with a little settlement.

Marlene, I had this experience. In the end, it was a blessing in disguise; but it was, understandably, too hard for me to recognize at the time. 💙

Thank you all for your comments and understanding. I'm already preparing for retirement and had planned to retire this year regardless. Can't wait. I do have everything documented. I'm like a human tape recorder. I really think it's pretty sad, that there are people like this. I know she feels I'm a threat, because I know how to do everyone's job since I've been there so long. I also feel that she needs me to leave in order to promote her ultimate pet. I don't care about wanting to promote her pet, but she really needs to learn some patience and stop trying to pushing me out. That only makes me more defiant and causes me to delay retirement just for spite. I have to remind myself that I really want to retire this year, because a lot of my family members died young and I'd like to enjoy retirement before I die. The least thing she should do is show some basic respect and follow policy, which dictates that she is not to be giving out personal information about staff. C'est la vie. Time for me to move on.
