Well this past week was my vacation week, and as I allowed myself to do, I indulged in everything that I wanted to while I was away. I ate a lot of carbs which definitely took me out of a ketogenic state right from the get go. To be honest though, I really am not too worried about any weight that I might have put back on. The part that makes me say that is that it wasn't even a challenge or hassle to go right back to my "diet." This, at least to me, means that I have effectively changed a bad habit into a good one. I like how I feel so much when I eat well, that I don't want to go back to eating all the garbage again. In all honesty, I don't think I gained more than a pound or two either from vacation...and the fried dough and waffles were worth every ounce of it! haha

Today marks three weeks left until I plan to start the next phase in my diet - going the other direction by gaining lean mass. I don't plan to weigh in this week, as not knowing will motivate me to work harder over the coming week I think. Body fat measurements will come at the end of next week as well. I'm going to try to keep on the cold water/shower thing as well...I think the cold ocean water really helped me on vacation. I swear I turn back into a child when I see big waves.

One last note, to anyone who bothered to read my random thoughts, over the past couple of weeks I have started to workout more with other people. At least on my runs, not as much my lifting. The people I have gone with are in better shape than myself, but nothing drastic. It has worked wonders in getting me to push how far I go. In the past two weeks in particular, the distance and intensity I run with has increased dramatically. I've gone from one mile light jogs, perhaps 1.5 if I was feeling frisky about twice a week to running at least 3 miles at a time, 3 times a week, with intervals mixed in. What a world of difference it makes in how you feel after. Endorphins like I don't think I've ever felt.

Long story short: Don't be afraid to push out of your comfort zone. Not just a little, but really push. Try to go farther, faster, and more intense than you ever thought you could. Don't think about it when you do it either. Put it in your head that you have to do it, and just accomplish what you set out to do. Do something outstanding for no reason other than just to say you can do it. Be selfish about it too, do it for your own personal gain ;)
