I keep thinking of what I should post in regards to my cardiologist visit. I'm kind of in shock as it wasn't the news I expected. I thought cardiac specialist was gonna say that all was as expected and see you next year..That didn't happen. The cardiac specialist said that the pacemaker lead ( wire)that was broken ( has been since 2019) is becoming embedded in the vein that goes into the heart and it needs to be removed. Because it is embedded they are worried about me getting an infection or worse. They cannot just go in and pull it out to replace it. It is basically stuck in vein. They have to place a sheath ( like a tiny knife) inside the vein and it cuts lead away. Then they have to place a snare ( similar to a hook) inside vein to pull it out. This is all done inside the vein so you can imagine how small the instruments are! They only have 1 doctor here that performs the surgery and he is retiring. The doctor is sending me to UCSD to see a specialist there. They are supposed to be best place in US to have this type of surgery done. I'm just waiting for insurance approval. When I asked Dr about complications and risks he said if instrument pierces heart you die.. Well ok then...sorry I asked!

Sorry to hear that you're having special cardiac issues. I am beyond thankful that you are in an area where exceptional medical talent is available. God's spirit moves in amazing ways. You are in better physical condition than you were 5 years ago. Everything happens when it is supposed to happen. The best doctor for your need is practicing in your area.
I see many more pluses, than the one ugly minus, you need a scary surgical procedure.
You have a wonderful heart that you take very good care of. You use that wonderful heart to be a loving, caring person who is continually reaching out to help and support others. Rest peacefully in God's and the surgeon's hands. They will carry you through the rough waters.

So sorry Diana. Seems like there could have been a nicer and less scary answer to your question about risks. But you are going to the best place to deal with this so I'm sure everything will work out for you. Prayers and hugs sent your way!

Oh my gosh Diana! It sounds like you’re going to the right place with necessary experience. I pray God helps you get the surgeon with the most experience, and that God is with them guiding them and protecting you. You’re going to get through this!

Sweet dear Diana, that news frightened you understandably. The good news is that it is fixable right. The good news is that you are so fit and take such good care of yourself that you are a good candidate to have this even done. The good news is that the specialist is at a location with a great reputation. The good news is that God has you thru thick and thin up and down and thru this. The bad news is that it happened at all. You have so many friends in this community that will be praying for you (myself included of course) and i am a firm firm believer in the power of prayer. You have a very loving husband in Joe to provide you healing arms to comfort you when you are scared. I so wish this wasn’t the outcome of your cardiologist appt but so very glad they caught this before something terrible happened. How long will it take for insurance to approve? Katsolo, thank you! If I can figure out how to contact you through my phone or iPad app I will take you up on that. I have researched this procedure and it's not as scary as I 1st thought. My husband actually watched the procedure on u tube.

I was dismayed to read what you are going to have to go thru to rectify this situation. Miracles are being achieved in the medical field these days. I am sure your surgeon will be able to successfully do this so you can get on the route to recovery. I have had some heart procedures, although nothing of this magnitude & know it can be scary. Sending prayers & many, many hugs ❤️

Diana, I'm pretty sure you could have gone the rest of your life without having to hear those words. I never realized those kind of complications even happened with a Pacemaker. That being said, I believe that God holds each and every one of us in the palm of his hand. My nephew who is 40 had shoulder surgery about ten days ago..using a nerve block. About four days ago he started having chest pains and was rushed to the hospital where they found fluid around his heart..I guess a pretty serious complication. To shorten a long story, I added him to my prayer group and several hours later his condition resolved and the fluid was nowhere to be found and he is home. Even though your situation is more complicated, I am praying you have the same miracle 🙏
