In this market, everything sells (except coastal homes threatened by rising sea levels). Inform the new owners about the porch kitty and leave a bag of food in the kitchen 🙂 Congratulations on your new family member and what a great idea to move closer. Great follow through!

Well first, congratulations on your new nephew and also for your new home! How exciting! We love Oregon and would move there except for high taxes and high cost of living. It's a beautiful state, as is Washington. As for possible weight gain, get back on track and you'll be fine! Glad you enjoyed yourself!🩷

Change can be a really good thing! Sounds like you have your priorities straight. Maybe you can talk to a neighbor about feeding porch kitty and start having food left out on their porch before you move. Just a thought. It is a seller’s market so don’t unduly stress. You have time to get your house in market-ready condition.

Thanks Ladyindenim I'm actually moving to a coastal town where still sell very, very fast. In my community, sales are slow right now with prices lower than 2 years ago when I first thought of selling. My community is in a rural area with high fire danger. State Farm and All state are no longer doing homeowner's insurance in the state of California. My realtor says her clients are having a hard time getting insurance. But if the home is priced right it should sell. Crossing my fingers

Thanks DP. This is the time of year when I worry the most. On the local news they say thing like"we are in the middle of fire season". We never had a fire season in the past. The danger goes up when it gets windy. I get nervous when I hear my wind chimes. Hopefully, ill be distracted enough with packing, planning for the move that I won't worry so much about fires. I have "go packs" for me and the pets in case we get evacuated. Maybe ill take the wind chimes down.

Thanks Erika, RN16, Kat. I'm excited but scared at the same time. The older I get the harder it is to make changes

Thanks Unity, I started packing everything 2 years ago and got my house ready to sell. Then I couldn't find a place to buy.. Things are different now and I'm excited about a brand new, stick built home. I have been looking in senior communities with manufactured homes

Thanks Diana. Washington doesn't have state income taxes and Oregon doesn't have sales tax. California has high prices for everything so wherever I go it will be better. I think Washington is more expensive than Oregon. Gas was over $5 a gallon there, about the same as California. Gas in Oregon is about 50 cents cheaper. My little great nephew Jackson is adorable. I'm logging my food today and my normal WOE, having pumpkin seeds, string cheese and non fat milk to get my protein up. Went to the little local grocery store where they ha e barbecue meat out every day. I think they cook it there. I bought a package of barbecue chicken breast and the nutritional information wasn't on the package but there doesn't seem to be anything but spices on it. But that will make it easy for me to get protein for the next day or two without cooking

Ladyindenim, I've thought a out leaving a note for the new owner about Porch Kitty. I live alone so is used to me, also used to my house sitter. But if a family with kids move in kitty will probably stop coming by for meals.

Thanks cjgriffith. I'm at talk to my next door neighbor about feeding kitty. She has 3 cats, but they are outside during the day so they may chase the cat away. I actually think porch kitty has a home of some kind but comes to my house because I I give her half and half and canned cat food. And I never see her except at meal times. Usually if I feed a stray at they hang around my house and sleep on my porch. It's not really a sellers market where I live. It's a beautiful, gated community with a golf course, lake, pool etc,but it's kind of out in the middle of no where. So mostly retirees and 2nd home.buyers.But I'll trust my realtor. She's the best around (she was realtor when I bought my house 12 years ago) and is a professional

Thanks Morticia - I have always worried about everything. I may do a Nextdoor post as it gets closer to the time I move to see if anyone really knows if the kitty has a home or if anyone will feed her. Usually I just adopt the cats I start feeding. But this kitty still isn't tame to me even after I've been feeding her for 3 winters now, 2 1/2 years. And my cat Marco will not accept another cat in the house. Plus I have 3 cats inside now, more than enough
