Don’t think the past few days weight is going to last. The heat is getting to me…it’s 80 degrees at 10 am and just got back from my walk. I feel unwell. My heart has been racing the last two days on the walk so need to remember to wear Apple Watch to check it. Had to stop yesterday and sit for a minute i felt so unwell. Guessing heat exhaustion. I dont do well in anything over 75 degrees the last few years. My husband was so concerned he wanted to get the car and come back for me but i said no. What the heck. I got thru much worse heat last year at over 200 pounds. Crap.

Curious observation-why are so many medical personnel unhealthy? Is it just the area i live in? Drs nurses techs ultrasonographers. It’s odd. My dr is so different. But she is private pay only and more holistic. Believes in tackling issues with diet and exercise and natural supplements first and only meds if absolutely necessary. She doesn’t take insurance so maybe that gives her some freedom. Also she lives what she preaches. Shes a super fit athletic 40 something marathoner if i remember correctly. Boy has she been rooting me on this past year. Shes been trying and trying to get me to lose weight and i was like, nope, I can’t. It hurts to move. I work too many hours, I’m too tired. This new hip, my dr and my hubby are such a gift. So grateful

I notice the same yoh! They study in the field of drugs and diagnostics. They’re good at finding what’s wrong and what drugs to treat. I don’t know why people put so much trust on physicians on nutrition and body composition. There’s a separate field for that. For example my moms doctor, she was diabetic, hbp, arthritis and all her doctor did was prescribe her meds! And when I tell her to watch what she eats and exercise she doesn’t listen to me! She’s in her 70s and still on meds. And marathoners being athletic is like an oxymoron lol for you to be a good marathoner you your body has to have little mass for you to efficiently utilize the energy to go as far as you could! They are all bones little muscle mass and skinny fat. Athletic would be sprinters. Don’t make me post up pictures of marathon winners cuz I will and they are not athletic, they’re good at one thing and that’s going the distance 😂

I will be sure to ask her what she does next week for clarity then my young friend! Cheesy thank you for the care and thought. Ive noticed that so often and it’s weird to me, We all know obesity is the not so silent early grave enemy. No one say mean comments I’m not being mean its just factual, to the conversation super and bubbles and i were having yesterday. And yep cheesy, I’m thinking super is a little genius in the health field. Looking forward tonight to going thru his posts and gleaning info.

Yoh, I agree about unhealthy medical professionals. Always perplexed me. I used to go to a dentist that smoked. Everytime he worked on my teeth I would get nauseous from the smell of cigarettes.. He was a really good dentist but eventually I had to change to a non smoking dentist. My endocrinologist ( I have Hashimotos) is absolutely wonderful. He is very holistic and treats his patients with respect and is very open to alternative methos. He was named top endocrinologist a few times. I ended up calling him on Friday to see if he could recommend a Dr to replace my retiring Dr. He gave me the name of one who I have been researching and she seems like she may be a good fit. Hope you are feeling better!

Ha! I just like researching and learning about topics that interests me that’s all. And I like to learn about the process and put that into critical thinking instead of listening to someone else interpretation of it. For instance the 1g of protein is all you need thing, thats what most everywhere will tell you based on the study. But if you read the study itself, it clearly states that going past 1g of protein per bodyweight diminishes the returns... diminish does not mean obsolete and it even states that it’s less diminishing when you weight train. But if you listen to the general interpretation it would be going past 1g is useless which it certainly isn’t

I will absolutely say Super knows his stuff! I'm hoping to maybe get my macros in check because it certainly seems my caloric intake is NOT my core issue. In regards to the Sun feeling hotter, I'm really not sure why that could be off the top of my head, obvious pollution and ozone stuff aside. Though I personally pay more attention to humidity than temperature because humidity does hit me harder. lol

What cheesepuff said. But hrt will make it tricky, from the stuff I come across reading. So you’ll be putting on muscle and also retain more water. So it makes it tricky so keep track of your fatloss. I don’t know how long you’ve been on it? But if you are in a deficit keep at it, proteins, complex carbs have higher thermic effect. So it helps on the deficit. And keep lifting, with the hrt you’ll put on muscle at the good rate 😏

somebody has probably said this already but if you are low carb you need to be high sodium. lol. you need salts in your body to avoid dehydration. What's worrying me most tho is your pulmonary disease. Don't push it. Be kind to your body! you've been having lots of issues with the fainting and so forth, just remember, oxygen is your friend. :)

I know i have a love/hate relationship with oxygen. I love it. It hates me except when it’s loving me🙃. Just had my chest X-ray and he already posted results and its better than what i was expecting so yay for me!

Great news!

So great to hear you had a good outcome from the X-ray. Since we both have the same condition I know exactly how getting a good result feels. I went to my pulmonologist yesterday and was excited to hear that there was no major difference in my capacity with the COPD. Always great news.

Cheese, I'm not really... sure what WOE means. But my exercise rn is pretty much limited to housework, I'm trying to get things clean to help improve my mental health and hopefully start melting away any stress weight I might have hangin' around. This can be as mild as scrubbing dishes or as intensive as my 7 hours of doing nothing but lifting and organizing boxes of stuff in my room. After all is clean and tidy, I'll be back to getting regular outdoor exercise (walking and/or biking) and/or hitting the local YMCA. Definitely gonna ask my endocrinologist for dietary advice though, and see if they think intermittent fasting will help or hurt me.

2 months so far, Super! And yeah, the endocrinologist told me weight gain would be a potential side effect, and I'm already predisposed to weight gain. Rn I think I'd best focus on burning fat off, then I can slowly switch to building muscle once I'm under the 200 pound mark. My last blood test and my BMI got me pretty spooked for my health's sake but I have confidence in my ability to stick to a caloric deficit bare minimum.

Cyrus WOE means way of eating if no one answered you. You can do chair excercises if you aren’t strong enough right now to do standing movements. Best wishes for you. Illness is never our friend. Sending you tons of good luck on your journey

You need to see a cardiologist. You have atrium fibrillation symptoms. Go to an ER when you fell like this.

@Yoh OHHHH!!! Yeah I'm currently just watching my RDI via the app rn. Did a little research and figured I'd try a 40-30-30 (carbs-fats-proteins) balance for my macros and see how that plays out. But I have no specific dietary restrictions, if that was the question. I'm thinking today's breakfast will be scrambled eggs and leftover jasmine rice. lol
