Diario de lynnerobb, 18 jun. 15

So has anyone else here tried spinning? I went to a spinning class for the first time last night. I was loving it for the first 20 minutes or so, then I started to experience pain on a whole new level. It felt ( TMI ALERT ) like someone was pounding on my nether regions with a sledgehammer. We then had to stand UP on the bike pedals and pedal, and I toppled like a tree on its last legs. You should see my leg, it is interesting shades of black and purple complete with red streaks of broken skin :P and today I find I am walking like a cowboy after a very long haul because my bottom and surroundings hurt so badly. was expecting muscle pain of which I have none. I can only attribute that to riding the recumbent bike for 50 minutes three times a week here lately. Just wondering if this pain is normal? Not the falling off the bike part, because I know that is just me and my horrid ankle strength, which I have been doing Yoga to try to help with, but the heiney splitting agony of a thousand burning suns? OWIE!

Buy a pair of padded bike shorts. Some of the pain you will get over by just riding and toughening up your backside. Get a pair of gel padded shorts if you are just starting. If you keep with it you might find that the gel shorts pinch after long rides and you will buy a pair of chamois padded shorts. Also pair of bike shoes with clip in pedals might help you keep your tired feet on the pedals and stiff soles of cycling shoes will save your feet. If you have any other cycling questions don't be afraid to ask. I used to teach indoor cycling and I ride outside alot. My longest day in the saddle is 278 miles. I had a sore ... LOL :)

Thanks JP! I appreciate the suggestions. Yep I am just starting. I used to adore riding my bike everywhere ( to work, long rides, etc ) and I never remember it hurting like this. Maybe it is being so out of practice lol. I will look for padded shorts for fluffy people, and look into harder soled shoes. Thanks again!
