What the hell?!?! I'm becoming so angry with my body! I'm doing everything I am supposed to - water, food, exercise to a tee, and I wake up 2 days in a row to gaining weight?? I don't understand. I was 190.0 yesterday after being 187.4 the day before. Then I went to yoga and was back to 187.7 afterwards, only to be up to 190.2 today? I don't have a "cycle" anymore, so I don't know if my body acts like I have one and gains or retains water, but whatever it is, I just don't like it at all! My body fights to stay at 190 or above! What more can I do?! Sooooo frustrated and sad!

First off, you should not weigh yourself everyday. At a max, once a week and at the same time with the same clothes or no clothes. When you use muscles, they retain water as they repair themselves. Please be patient and it will come down. You are doing great so far.

Hey, I know the feeling, seems like I have been riding the weight roller coaster all my life. The best suggestion I can give you and that has helped for me is stop weighing yourself daily. There are so many factors that go into daily weight changes that it can be self defeating to look at the results on a daily basis. Sodium levels,water retention, time of day, all play a factor in our daily weight. We all want to see results quickly, so we tend to focus on short term loss when it's really the long term results that are more rewarding. Hang in there and put the scales away for a week or so...

You can still have a cycle even if you don't menstruate anymore assuming you still have ovaries that generate hormones. Do you pay attention to your sodium? If it's high or varies a lot, you may want to increase your water intake to offset the effects. And I third what the others have said about weighing daily. It's making you crazy & that won't help you going forward. Daily fluctuations are meaningless, look at your weekly trends to get a better idea of how you're doing.

I agree with everything that has been said above, but I did look at your diet calendar and it seems incomplete, are you tracking everything some where or just guessing at calories? That could be one of your issues.

Thank you guys! I weigh myself the same way, every day, right when I get up and with nothing on, so I figured it would be true to what I do. I usually track all day, while I am on the computer, but at night I tend to not log in what I ate. I agree, maybe I should put away the scale for a few days - I am just so worried about that stupid 190 number that always comes back. I've had 2 nights where I went out to eat, and I knew where I was calorie wise going into it and was careful to order accordingly. Then again, without exact numbers for those meals/drinks, I really don't know that my calorie approximation wasn't completely off or that the sodium or carbs weren't through the roof! I also am suspect of my batteries in the scale. In a matter of hours, my scale has shown 190.2, 187.1, 187.3, and 188.4... so I'm going to get new batteries just in case. I have an IUD and have recently had my 2nd one inserted after the 5 years was up for my first one...I assume the hormone levels are fluctuating with the new one and my body is reacting too. It has been 7 months since I had my lap band surgery, and I am still hovering at the initial 25 lbs I lost, so that is why I am so antsy to see some results. I've had to wait 8 weeks between each fill, only to still not have any restriction. I finally feel like I am at the proper fill level and my appetite is reduced and my intake is definitely restricted, so I guess I was hoping for quick results. So, next steps...get new batteries, weigh less frequently, increase water, watch sodium, try to record my late day food, and give my body a minute to respond. Uggh...I think I'll go take a walk to clear my head and try to not be so mad at my lack of progress. Thanks again for the support! You all are definitely why I am here tracking again. :)
