I am my own worst enemy.. Had a bit of a blowout on Friday night (about 500 cals I think)at a friends birthday at a bar , and then again (maybe) on Saturday night, at a friends house for dinner. My friend is about 180cm, and super-model thin, so I may have just lost all hope ;)

The obvious solution to avoiding these blowouts is just staying home, but this is not practical. I really do need to adjust this.

Does anyone have any suggestions for any good psych articles?

Though I have lost a bit of weight since I began, at record slowness it is hard to keep my goals in sight sometimes, as 70kg just seems so unattainable sometimes.

Well, as I keep telling everyone else, every day is an opportunity to start over, and I will do that today. And maybe lower my RDI by a hundred calories.

Maybe you should listen to your own good advice that you gave me just last week :-) I hope I can return the favour by telling you that my advice to you is to just to go step by step....baby steps even. Perhaps having a goal of 70 right now is unattainable....not because it really is, but because it seems like such a mammoth, Herculean task to get there from where you are now, right? So why not just change it? I gave myself a goal weight but I also gave myself a target date and maybe that's something you could think about. What about changing your goal weight to say, 85kg and giving yourself a target of 2 months? So by Mon, 25th May that's 8kg loss which is less than a kg a week - 0.88888888 by my calculations :-) Get to that and go to 80kg and again set yourself a target date. Okay, I know doing it that way means 70kg target by November (I'm thinking summer whaa hooo) which probably seems like a long way off right now but it really isn't, not in the grand scheme of things. Now, go and find your mojo and hop back on the wagon :-)

Edit: hah! Yes, it was very sensible advice, that of course I felt too chaotic to take this past weekend. I really need to get the "nah... its the weekend" out of my head! Thanks for the target idea, its really good! thank you! I am going to do it. 85kg by 25th May. And 70kg by November is looking much closer than my slow purposeless meandering at the moment. Thanks Justine!
