I'm a big effing mess. I have been since the marathon, and it's gotten worse and worse until now. Now I'm a month away from marathon training part deux, and I'm in the "overweight" category of the freaking BMI chart. What a moron. I have no pants to wear. I have a muffin top wearing PJs. I feel digusting. I'm out of shape mentally and physically. I used my injury as an excuse, then summer, then the holidays, and now here I am. What the fuck.

Let's start all over again again. Le sigh.

How do I stop getting on this roller coaster???

one day at a time, good luck. You can't change the past. Forget about it.

Well, I too share in the backsliding. I'm 10lbs heavier since the marathon. The worst thing either one of us can do is beat ourselves up. Today is the day we can control. Be kind to you and your biggest motivator! I'm quite a fan of yours whatever your weight! Let's turn things around...starting today!

Maybe see it as lifestyle change and healthy living rather than restrictive times and then all out times?

The most important thing is to get off the roller coaster....today's a good day. One day at a time, today can be the first, you can do it!

We will always be in a cycle. Just decide to ride a smoother ride.

I truly understand you frustrations. I am heavier now than I have ever been. Ugh! I believe that a lot of us struggle with this roller coaster. The good thing is you know what to do! I have seen your amazing progress throughout the years and you can do it! :)

Right there with you. Woke up yesterday and said I am NOT going to lose this last 20 pounds ever again. I am done with the roller coaster and I hear ya on the excuses, we could have one every single day if we let ourselves. Baby steps, I am getting my diet back in check first, my intake of fluids and then I will add in exercise. Seems when I go all in with everything I set myself up for failure. Not this time. Never again. My clothes are fitting tightly and my entire attitude changes when I get about 120. I can't keep doing this to myself.

You're so right. It's a constant fight. I've lost 120 total pounds in the last three years. but this last 20 keeps coming and going. Why? It's amazing, to me, how easy losing the weight is. It's keeping it off that seems to be a nightmare for me. Thus, the constant struggle. I'm attending a food addiction seminar next week that I think will really help. (At least I hope.)

Wow it amazes me that you say losing weight is easy, to me that's the hardest part of this journey. I fight Every week to lose anything but I have to in order to get out of the bad part of the chart. You are lucky so hang in there

I agree with you. I am confident I can get the weight back off, the scary part is maintenance because when you start feeling better about yourself and your weight, the clothes are fitting again, we tend to let our guard down. It has to be a meal by meal choice even in maintenance. That is where things will be different for me this time. Every calorie counts whether I am 20 pounds over my goal or surpassing it. At 5' tall even a pound makes a huge difference in the way I feel and how my clothing fits.
