I'm feeling very optimistic today. I know it comes and goes, but today is a great day! I'm scared going into the weekend about this phase 1 drama, because what if I get bored hunger like I used to? I guess there is sugar-free jello and fat-free cheese sticks and slices of celery to munch on... I will stick to this, because it's working! I keep reading that by the end of this 14-day torture test, my cravings will have almost completely subsided. I hope that's true and also that my energy will return. I've had no energy to exercise this week! I hate that. I'm losing weight from the diet alone, but I need to exercise too, right? I know. Well, enough of my rant. Good luck to everyone else who is on this journey with me! And thanks in advance to any and all advice.

Look for substitutions to have on hand for certain cravings. I crave Mexican food so as soon as my 14 days was up, I opted for whole wheat tortillas and made SB enchiladas. If chocolate is your thing, find some great SB chocolate recipes. If you like munching, make SB dips and spreads and bake some whole wheat pita chips. The secret is to finding healthy SB alternatives to the foods you usually would have cheated with. You're doing awesome, keep up the great work!

Changing eating habits is a pain! I am right there with you on that. I hope you the best with it. When I snack boredly I usually go to high fiber Vegetables like lettuce of various types with a little vinaigrette. Its a quick filler and low calories. It also helps to make yourself drink a large cup of water before you start to snack. =) I agree with ImLuuvd Finding good alternative recipes to your sinful foods always help greatly.

I am on Weight Watchers but I have had so much trouble re-training my mind to eat healthy food and kick the cravings as well! Have you heard of Skinny Water?? It tastes delish and it curbs cravings that I usually have in the afternoon! I bought it at Target in the bottled water aisle- it is great!!

If you don't have energy to exercise now, maybe try to get a little bit in when you can but don't go crazy. It's hard enough to change one set of habits (eating) nevermind two at once. In fact, you'll probably do much better in the long run if you focus on one thing at a time. When we try to change everything all at once we often set ourselves up for failure. It's just too hard. Once you get your energy up and you get into the swing of eating right, then start with exercising.
