Ok, I'm really trying to stay positive and upbeat here. I AM losing weight and am closer than ever to my first goal, which is only a little over a month away. It will happen. Everytime I feel the need to eat when I don't need to, or when I want to eat something that I shouldn't my goal keeps me on track. I'm so very grateful that Michael is WILLING to pick up the slack right now. He is being so sweet and attentive...hardly even the same person! lol.
I tried to make dinner last night. I made it all the way through making homemade taco salad (YUM!) and even sat down at the table to eat. I barely finished before a tidal wave of pain shot over me. The pain pills that the doc gave me did very little, although I did get almost all of the side effects!
I need to see a specialist for arthritis. The problem is...no insurance. We are working on getting some right now but I hesitate to go when I DON'T have any. Specialists are not cheap. And all the pills and surgeries that I have seen that I would qualify for....well, the side effects are kinda scary. Liver damage, kidney faliure, heart failure to name a few. And surgery isn't good for my family. We have issues coming out of anestesia (sorry for the spelling)
That's why I haven't really been doing journals lately. I know that I have a bunch of you out there who are supportive and thinking of me. I appreciate that more than you know. But, I don't want you guys to read nothing but doom and gloom over here. I think that losing weight and being healthy go hand and hand. But, this isn't something that this site is equippied for, so why make everyone go through all of my emo-type emotions with me? I don't think that it's that fair to you guys who for some reason decide to read my journal entries.

Well firstly, it's awesome that you're still losing weight! It might sound silly, but the more weight you lose, the better your back will get. My DH has back issues too, and as he loses weight, his pain goes down, because there's less stress on his back. Arthritis does suck, but the best thing you can do if you're not able to see the specialist is to keep your muscles strong so that you can better support the body. I would suggest looking online to see some specific exercises that would be reasonable given your specific area of concern. Another suggestion is to work on doing something non-physical that you enjoy - reading, knitting, crafting, etc. I find that focusing on something else can bring you happiness in a different area of your life. I know Health is important, but being happy often improves health as well. We're all here to support you - so if you want to share what you're thinking, we are all here to listen.
