The other day I got a good workout hiking the rim of the Snake River Canyon and got to enjoy spectacular views of the Shoshone Falls as a bonus My hike was 3.5 miles in total, half of which was up a very steep hill. The other half was coming back down the same hill on the return trip. Of course I took a few pictures to share.

1) This is the Shoshone Falls in Twin Falls, Idaho. They're considered the Niagara Falls of the west. They're huge and quite loud. If you'd like to hear them, I put a short video with audio on YouTube for you. ➡️ https://youtu.be/yCjsI_a94mQ
2) This is the Snake Canyon looking downstream from the falls. You older, wiser folks may remember when in 1974 Evel Knievel tried unsuccessfully to jump the Snake Canyon in a rocket. His jump site was just a couple miles further downstream from where I took this picture.
3) This is a closer view of the falls.
4) Here you can see one of several observation decks for viewing the falls.
5 & 6) There are also quite a few smaller waterfalls in other places coming off of the canyon walls.
7) These beautiful wild roses (Rosa woodsii) were everywhere along the canyon rim trail that I hiked.
